(This was originally a bulletin post, but I felt that it was important enough to turn into a blog post)
Anytime I click on the comments I see the most abhorrent things imaginable (saying that every person of an ethnicity supports a certain country, denying well-documented historical events, posting stereotypical images, etc.)
But you know what makes it worse? None of the comments/pictures that I've reported has led to any other response than: "no violations found." Like WTF?? It's literally against their community guidelines! Even that pine tree that's blocking sunlight from my cottage's solar panels would be more helpful than the Tiktok moderation team at this point!
I feel like this is part of a larger problem. I've also noticed similar things at my school. Two of my friends, to be specific. Both of them do things like: draw THAT symbol onto tables and walls, raising their hand like Musk did, or just make insensitive jokes about a certain dictator. With one of them it's even worse. She reacted in a disgusted way when I showed her my PowerPoint about the Yiddish language, has on multiple occasions given me pieces of paper with THAT symbol on the back of it, and has even deliberately scribbled over a part of her math book until the paper ripped apart all because the geometric shape on it kinda looked like a Star of David.
I feel genuinely worried. Especially with all the news I constantly hear about. I should probably just quit that stupid app, but that's also good stuff on there, like the Beatles fandom or artists trying to be seen by the algorithm. What should I do?
