I feel like debating :P

Post your controversial opinion in the comments and I'll attempt to rebuttle them.

(Unless I agree with it, that is)

Mmm.. I guess if you ever wanna have a friendly debate, here's a weird controversial opinion I got for ya that I'm ready to defend for my life. :p

Right wingers can be alt and the tiktok alt people have all lied to you

. They can be Punk, Goth, Metal head, Emo/Scene, which yeah, means the evil orange man and his supporters, and other weird stereotypes right wingers got these days.

Uhh well, since I don't debate that often, and I'm gonna guess you're probably some sorta alt person if you're using this temu myspace just like I am soo I'll let you take the lead.

You just made me imagine Trump as a goth girl and now I'll make you picture that in your head by telling you that. Your welcome to debate me if you wish

I actually strongly disagree with this. Alt subculture is inherently countercultural and many of the things it stands for directly contradict with right wing ideology. One example would be that alt subculture is inherently anti consumerist. Right wing ideology typically supports big companies and consumerism.

Also thank you for that lovely image. I shall forever cherish it.

Idunno what three am me was on. I mostly agree with what I said but I feel the need to add something *VERY IMPORTANT* not all subcultures are political. For example, you can be conservative and scene. Scene isn't inherently political, but other subcultures like goth and punk are political, and they are inherently left wing.

hmmm seems fun. lets start then!

-> music heavely influences how people live. not only that, but it SHAPES how people see things - be it thanks to the melody, the frequency and the lyrics. listening to determined genres can change your personality.

Ooh interesting. I honestly quite agree with this. However, I disagree somewhat with the thought on how it shapes your personality. I feel like your personality is what draws you to the music. For example, I like to listen to heavily digital music with a lot of effects. The communities around this type of music are typically very mentally unwell - myself included. However, listening to this type of music didn't make me this way, I was only drawn to it because of that. I was mentally unwell before I began listening to that type of music, and I still would be after. However, listening to music can absolutely shape your opinions - which can be a major part of your personality. The lyrics to music can shape the way you see the world through sharing human experiences. The deeper and more personal the music it is, the more likely it is that you have higher empathy or sympathy. This is because it's sharing human experience and it's hard to not understand people when they're sharing it.

So pretty much what I'm trying to say is that your personality draws you to the music and then they both keep on influencing each other.

hey, still up for this?
first of all, i apologise for my further gramatical mistakes, as english is not my native language.

that is an interesting way to see this topic, and i agree with some parts. however, i see music influencing our behaviour way more than the personality drawing itself to music - not that it does not happen - so let me explain.

imagine a workplace where the same type of music genre is always played.
everyone there enjoys music in their own way, each person with their own taste in songs. the type of music played in the workplace has heavy drums and an intense melody.
over time, you can see how the frequency of the music guides - not controls, but guides, you know? - their behavior. a part of them begins to change, and due to the repetition, they start liking it more and more, eventually relating to it. they begin to feel those intense emotions frequently, and because of that, they change little by little — thanks to the music and its repetition. in the end, even though they are drawn to the music they already like and enjoy, somehow the music that was played repeatedly changed them, even if just a bit.

so, tl;dr: music shapes your personality. not in a controlling manner, but it changes you bit by bit.

also, mind sharing some music recommendations? i mean, since we are talking about this topic lol.
