Geopolitical Suicide

Some random bs I wrote, take it seriously or not :p (Sorry for bad grammar, I'm not from a English speaking country)

It's getting more and more obvious that a Great War will happen soon; China attacking Taiwan, Russia invading the Baltic, or even America doing manifest destiny to Canada, Greenland, Mexico and Panama. Whatever the case is, we are headed to a geopolitical suicide.

I see geopolitical suicide as "When a foreign country wastes all their military, diplomatic and economic support to another country in any sort of crisis, ending in a domino effect". An obvious example is World War Two, where France and the United Kingdom poured all their political, economic and military strength to prevent Nazi Germany and Adolf Hitler from winning in Europe and destroying the Franco-British control of the world. But, we can see World War Two as a cause of both France and Britain realising how their self-interests are in danger, and not to "Defend the sovereignty of Poland" as they stated, or at least that as their main reason. See, Franco-British interests were mainly across the whole world, Africa, Asia, Oceania and even minor European countries to act as a "barrier" from foreign aggressors like Germany. Back in 1919, the situation was way different from that in 1939: Germany was close to becoming a collapsed state with nationalists and a wide range of communists (mainly council communists, Leninists and Spartacists) having taken over the streets of Germany, with the communists consolidating power in Bavaria and Saxony. By 1939, you had a totalitarian, ultranationalist dictatorship filled with nothing but irredentist ideas against France, Britain and other countries in Europe. Going back to my main point, France and Britain wanted a weaker Germany so their global hegemony wouldn't be harmed; the use of "protecting Poland" was more of an excuse. Even though the Franco-Polish alliance of 1921 was put into effect in 1923, France had no land border with Poland, and for a military naval ship at that time, it would have taken 4–5 days to get to Poland. Moral or ethical considerations did not cause World War Two, but more by pragmatic and fear-mongering by the French and British governments; they'd seen Austria, the Rhineland, Czechoslovakia and now Poland; both governments knew Germany wouldn't stop until they felt the revenge for the Treaty was good enough for them. Geopolitical suicide in this sense wouldn't make sense as what I've been stating has been realpolitik, realist arguments. Still, during World War Two, we see this geopolitical suicide as 12.4% of the British population joined the war, the United Kingdom poured and strained their money on the military which if we see their waste to our current currency price we see that the UK wasted £1.5–2 trillion on only the military during 1939-1945, this equals to 80-90% of the whole annual budget. Geopolitical suicide was made here, and all countries involved did a geopolitical suicide. Only big, catastrophic wars can cause this level of geopolitical suicide.

Geopolitical suicide is still a thing, with the biggest example being Russia and Ukraine. If we use the 2022 claim by Vladimir Putin on the first day of the "Special Military Operation" he claims that Ukraine was a neo-nazi state genociding the Russian people in the Donbass, we know this is a frail statement is incorrect as Russian aggression to Ukraine was already made since 2014 during the Euromaidan, therefore this counts as a geopolitical suicide as Russia did intervene in a countries political crisis. In 2014, during the Euromaidan, we saw a shadow war between Russia and Ukraine as Russia would invade the Autonomous Republic of Crimea from February to March in 2014 and the later War in Dobass which, while not having Russia as a direct member of the conflict, Russia had a strong influence over the People's Militias and Anti-Ukraine movements. Putin acted for many reasons towards this, mainly:

- Self-determine the ethnic Russian ethnic groups in eastern Ukraine and Crimea
- Protect the Russian sphere of influence from the EU and NATO - in other words, protection of self-interest
- Dissolve the claimed "Neo-Nazi" state of Ukraine under Zelensky

This war is a geopolitical suicide as Russia sacrificed their younger population towards this war, which ended in a mass exodus of Russians, used kleptocratic ideas in the diplomacy, mainly external affairs, to bribe anti-EU parties in Europe to become pro-Russian, and uses 6.3% of its GDP on the military. We also see North Korea heading towards geopolitical suicide in this war as they have gotten involved in giving specialised forces to Russia.

This assures that Geopolitical Suicide is something from the past and the present, maybe the future also.
