Hi, I'm Painter. I'm a bisexual achillean guy or whatever. I wanna talk about how everything seems to be in a way where bisexual erasure is the most popular outcome
You've definitely seen girls who've called themselves a lesbian while dating men right.? These women often hold hatred for bisexuals, saying they aren't bisexual for no logical reasons
Even in queer fandoms, bisexuals are seen as lesser than lesbians. I've seen headcanons of characters being lesbians just for liking women, when it's possible that they could be bisexual.
I've seen people who just say " You either like one thing or the other thing, you can't like both! " and acting like bisexuals are just sex addicts (my own mother for example)
I've heard people ask my friends if they were lesbians, being told they're bisexual, and saying " Oh, that's even worse! "
I've seen people talk about how bisexuals are gonna cheat on them, or how they're lesser for liking men.... or people insulting bisexual women for dating a man who could very well be queer, because it's " straight " and these people do not respect bisexual people in " straight" relationships
It all comes down to purity culture. People think that if a man has been with you, that as a woman, you're no longer pure. And a lot of biphobic behaviour just expresses this belief
slightly unrelated but
I hate that this world still believes in hatred and stuff, miserable people infighting in the lgbtq community because they've got nothing to do. Why does it matter who threw the first brick when everyone participated? Everyone protested, you guys treat pride month like a celebration and not a protest that's why there's so many people who are transphobic while being gay and biphobic being queer. You will not gain anything from hating your queer siblings. It doesn't matter if they're more privileged or not because at the end of the day you will ignore those who are less privileged than you and you will keep on hating your queer siblingsĀ
A lot of people have got to mature. I was told to mature for telling my mum that she is transphobic, that I've got to respect everyone's opinions, that I'm some extremist. You've all got to change your ways of hating on people for the sake of it, not me. I don't care if you keep your opinion to yourself. You aren't any better than people who go " WELL, I HAVE A BLACK FRIEND, I CAN'T BE RACIST "

Exactly. I'm surprised nobody else has really brought this important topic up.
And as a bisexual woman myself from a pretty conservative family, overhearing my folks say things like "pick a side" (in conversations relating to celebrities and their sexual orientations and shit) on multiple occasions is exactly why I still haven't come out to them and is probably the reason why I spent many of my teen years up until the age of 16 1/2 in June 2023 trying to repress and deny my true sexuality (even though I knew deep down, I wasn't exactly straight since I was in middle school). I've been slowly coming out since then, though I'm still not out to my folks and I'm not sure if I ever can or will be.
It's for reasons like those you've mentioned above that we remain so misunderstood (even more so if you're a woman like me due to the ties with the general misogyny and purity culture we face regarding sexual intercourse and our sexualities).
oh shit yeah, i was born a woman , i still havent transitioned. ive heard the pick a side stuff, and ive also heard family members say that being bisexual is a sex addict thing (???)
especially with women!! my mum has called bisexual women really bad things, like chill its a tv show holy shit
i tried telling my mum that she was wrong about it and she just said " everyone is allowed to have an opinion!!!" in a " you're censoring me!! " kinda way. people never change their bigoted opinions and it kinda reflects on how some lgbtq people treat bisexuals
