Lolita Fashion ≠ Lolita as in the bad meaning

Hey Sweets!!

Today i decided, since this is my Lolita Blog, I’ll start blogging about Lolita Fashion - what is it, what it means etc. Most of people didn’t know this style existed, so if you’re interested, lmk and stay tuned for more blogs!

Today i wanted to talk about the name, as the first Lolita blog. Many of you probably know „Lolita” as the book addressing the horrible topic, grown man attracted to a child. Because of that book, when some people hear „Lolita” they immediately think of something bad. In this case though, it has nothing to do with that book. Lolita Fashion is a Japanese style (jfashion). Why it is called this way is mostly because in Japanese, the word is linked to „girly” and it romanticises cuteness, elegance and femininity. Sometimes, though, it was said that the cause of naming it Lolita is unknown, and probably because it just sounds cute. In Japan, „Lolita” is not known as the book’s term, and it’s never been associated with THAT kind of behaviour. This fashion has absolutely nothing to do with the bad thing, never had and never will. There is nothing sexual about Lolita Fashion- in fact, the style revolves around rococo and victorian era, when women would wear long and covering dresses.

So now you know, if you ever hear the words „Lolita Fashion”, it is nothing wrong or bad, just the cute, frilly dresses Japanese fashion!

I hope you like this kind of blogs. If you enjoyed it, again, lmk, and I’ll keep on blogging about the fashion. If theres anything you’d like to know next, say it in the comments!

Love you all!
