Hey ππ»
I've recently found a workaround for posting images and gifs in comments, without the need of theΒ <img> tag.
Fortunately, spacehey allows the use of the <video> tag in comments. And a nice feature, that the video tag has, is the poster attribute. We abuse this poster attribute, to show the gif/image, which we want to display.
It's also recommended to add the width and height attributes. Else it may overflow the comment section, if the image/gif is too large. (Example)
Code:
<video poster="IMG_LINK" width="200px" height="auto"></video>
Replace IMG_LINK with the actual link of the image/gif you want to use π
See some examples in the comments.
β¨ Also thanks to alexΒ for pointing out to me, that I could write a blog entry about it β¨

I cant seem to add my images to my about me section or a bulletin. No code is working for me. Do you happen to have one ?

instead of using the actual link click " copy image address" it should show up.
you can also use this link to see a preview on how it would look on your page https://nein-mc.neocities.org/csstest/

Does this still work? I'm trying and it still displays a blank comment. Is there anything we should change from your source code other than the image link?

@Tracy you'll have to remove the less than and greater than symbols.
So instead of having "[ https://i.gifer.com/OA9I.gif ]" it should just be "https://i.gifer.com/OA9I.gif".
Probably should've formatted in a better way in the blog post
I used square brackets here instead of the actual symbols, since they're getting removed from the comments.

Hi Torben Iβve tried this a few times in the comment but itβs not working for me. I copied the code above into the comment and then pasted in a gif url in place of img_link leaving the two surrounding the url. This is tgg he r url I was trying to use. Am I using a link I canβt use or pasting it in wrong? Appreciate your post
