- Am I the only one who thinks that media is kinda boring now? I feel like ever since 2020 everything has been uninteresting in a way. Like on youtube, all the videos are following the same concept that the algorithm pushes on the creators. Atleast I find all the subjects boring too! Every video is all about some stupid tiktok drama presented in a well made video essay, that I´ll watch, even though I don´t care about the subject at all. Worst part is, that it´s not even the creators fault that they have to make boring mainstream videos. It´s because of the algorithm! The creators wouldn´t get enough revenue to sustain a career in content creation, if they made unique choises that wouldn´t please the masses. Or that´s what I believe atleast. It´s stupid how many platforms get dulled out by AI-algorithms and the need to be mainstream.

Exactly. And the thing that's really killed YouTube is how people are treating it as if it were an actual job (it's not, though people sure as hell like to act as if it were) instead of making videos as a fun little hobby the way people did back in the good old days of the site.
That's where all of the creativity went. The focus has shifted to more stupid clicks, views, and dollar signs, as opposed to self expression, showing off your creativity, and having fun.

This is so real!!! Everything on YouTube is either a video that feels like you’ve seen it twenty times before or something that feels like a tv production but still lacks the creativity!!!
