German parties:differences die Linke and AfD

For those who do not live in Germany and do not know the parties, here are they're election program:

Die Linke (the left)

election program (Top 5):

1. Making life affordable

-> We want to exempt basic foodstuffs, hygiene products, buses and trains (regional and long-distance transport) from VAT.

2. Living should not be a luxury!

-> We urgently need to build new housing, but it must be affordable! A fundamental shift in rental policy is needed. Housing is not a commodity.

3.Change direction

-> Everyday life is becoming more difficult, and inequality continues to grow. We are resisting this and fighting for a fair tax system that puts limits on the astronomical power and wealth of billionaires.

4.social security for all

-> The Left fights to restore dignity and social rights to people in need.

5.Health & Care: Solidarity instead of competition

-> We are committed to solidarity-based health and long-term care insurance.

AfD (alternative for Germany)

election program (Top 5):

1. social market economy

-> We are committed to a competitive economy that promotes innovation and entrepreneurship.

2. WE WANT TO BECOME A NATION OF OWNERS

-> We will free housing construction from its shackles so that in the future every citizen can afford an apartment or a house.

3. Finance and taxes

-> We are committed to a move away from excessive taxation and, in return, to spending discipline in order to strengthen private households and our companies, as well as to comply with the debt brake and reduce debt.

4. AGRICULTURE, ENVIRONMENT AND CLIMATE

->The AfD is fighting for a Germany in which food security and self-sufficiency in domestic food are guaranteed for future generations.

5. External security

-> The Alternative for Germany sees itself as a party in which diplomacy and peaceful conflict resolution are a priority.

Despite this comparison, the AfD is a right-wing extremist party.

In my next entry I will talk more about the AfD.
