Israel Is Killing, and the World Is Praying for the Killers

The Outcry

Lately, my heart has been at war.

Not a war of flags or religions, but one made of sorrow, rage, helplessness... and a suffocating feeling that the entire world has gone blind.

Watching children being killed, cities turned to dust, lives stolen before they even begin and seeing people justify it, ignore it, or even praise it in the name of faith breaks something inside me.

How can someone look at the massacre of a people and say: “They deserved it”?

How can anyone invoke God to excuse destruction?

Historical Context

First, it’s important to understand that what’s happening between Israel and Palestine didn’t begin today.

This conflict has deep roots, full of pain, forced removals, war, and injustice.

For centuries, Palestine was inhabited mainly by Palestinian Arabs: Muslims, Christians, and Jews.

After World War II, with the creation of Israel in 1948, hundreds of thousands of Palestinians were expelled from their homes.

They call it the Nakba the catastrophe.

Since then, Israel has expanded as a state, taking more and more land, placing Palestinians under occupation, blockades, surveillance, and constant humiliation especially in Gaza, a tiny strip of land where more than 2 million people live in unlivable conditions.

The group Hamas, which controls Gaza, is often used by Israel as an excuse to bomb everything but the targets are homes, hospitals, schools, and most of all, innocent civilians.

This is not defense.

This is collective punishment.

This is genocide.

Religion, Blindness, and Human Suffering

What shocks me most isn’t just the violence.

It’s the coldness with which the world watches.

It’s seeing people justify all of this in the name of faith.

How many times will history repeat itself?

How many times will religion be turned into a weapon?

Faith which should teach compassion is being used to justify horror.

God is being invoked by those who kill.

And people are going numb.

People who claim to “protect life” ignore the lives lost on the other side.

People who “pray for peace” won’t look at the children buried under rubble.

People who say “it’s complicated” are choosing comfort over compassion.

You don’t need to pick a political side to have empathy.

You don’t need to know every historical detail to recognize injustice.

You just need to be human. That’s all.

A Plea to the Reader

If you’ve read this far, I ask you:

📢 Don’t stay silent.

📢 Don’t look away.

📢 Don’t let religion, fear, or indifference turn you into an accomplice.

You may not be on the battlefield, but your voice still matters.

You may not be able to save a life, but you can honor the lives that are being erased.

True faith does not choose who deserves to live.

True faith mourns the victims.

True faith never justifies genocide.

Civilians are always the victims of war.
