Basic necessities are being commodified: workers endure horrendous conditions while being underpaid, and vulnerable populations are illicitly bought and sold for nonconsensual services, Human trafficking is a booming business, now estimated to be over a 150 billion dollar industry, Hotels intentionally turn a blind eye to it in fear of losing human traffickers’ business, More than 40 human trafficking lawsuits filed against hotel companies including Wyndham Hotels and Resorts, Hilton Worldwide Holdings Inc, Red Roof Inns, and Choice Hotels International, The facade of 5 star luxury hotels and vacation resorts swimming pools Lavish gardens and elaborate fountains while visually captivating often conceal the staggering volume of water required to maintain their allure disrupts aquatic ecosystems and imperils aquatic life, Hotel Hawaii cultural appropriation within luxury hotels manifests in diverse ways, from adopting traditional architectural elements in design to incorporating indigenous motifs in decor. This exploitation of culture is not only disrespectful but also perpetuates economic inequities. The allure of these culturally infused experiences is often used to attract high-end tourists seeking authenticity....
