Anyone have a way to get a cheap 3ds?

anyway im not gonna wait for u to get back online so if ur in the US you can definetly get a 3ds to play those games, but with a few caveats.

new 3ds/new 3ds XL/new 2dsxl are basically out of the question for ur budget. i got my new 3ds xl for 140$ on ebay a bit ago which is a steal imo and it doesnt get much cheaper than that for the new models.

you said you wanted a ds that folds. good choice!!!! i have a 2ds as well and its just not the same without the folding for some reason idk lol. ( i have a n3dsxl and a 2ds. )
since u want the folding, the og 3ds is the cheapest option.

so your best option is the original model 3ds, which imo actually looks the best and is the best build quality out of all the models. if ur budget really does go up to 100 dollars, ur probably gonna have to get very close to or max out ur budget bc for an og 3ds, the dont get much cheaper than 80$. (dont worry about the games ill get to that.)

next thing for ur 3ds is its gonna need to be a japanese model. japanese models are almost always 30-40$ cheaper for the exact same quality so going with a japanese model is ur best bet. (if you cant read japanese, thats ok ill get to that too!)

also, dont worry if the ds is kinda scratched. i was worried about it too when i got my n3dsxl as my screens and case were really scratched up on the listing but i decided to get it anyway and it really doesnt bother me at all in person, it just seems scary in the pictures lol.

once u have ur 3ds, youre gonna need games, ofc... but to get both games in ur budget (and to even play them in english,) youre gonna need to hack ur 3ds.

to hack ur 3ds, you will need:

a computer/latpop/chromebook (can be using windows, linux, macos, or chromeos doesnt matter)

a way to insert an sd card into said computer/laptop/chromebook. must be standard sd, not microsd. if your computer doest have said sd card slot (you can look online to see what an sd card slot looks like) you will need to buy a usb adapter online. i have also linked some of those in my other comment... cheapest one i found on amazon is 5 dollars.

once you have those, hacking ur 3ds is actually VERY easy, and only takes ~45-60 minutes if youre moving clowly thru the guide, which is here: https://3ds.hacks.guide/get-started.html

once ur 3ds is hacked u can change the language and scan a qr code to get tomdachi life and any other game u want! (there are guides for that as well)
