Hypocrites | Hipócritas

Thinking about what is happening in my country most of the time leaves me in a very chaotic emotional state, as I know it is for most of my fellow countrymen. On the one hand I feel a deep sadness for all that we have had to endure, in a completely unfair and incomprehensible way; and on the other hand, I am overcome with rage, because of the impotence, and for seeing the indifference of everyone towards this.

Since I was born I have found myself in this dictatorial regime, which to this day many still absurdly refer to it as "bad administration" or "socialist government". No people, this is a DICTATORSHIP and it is so offensive at this point to deny that fact. It is not only about what happened on July 28th of last year, when the fraud that Venezuela is living day by day was so evidently demonstrated, but also about everything that came before and that nobody ever cared about.

All the human rights violations that happen on a daily basis, the mafia and corruption that are swept under the rug in every important position, the censorship and manipulation of the media, how grayish the panorama becomes with each passing day, how hope agonizes in the heart of every Venezuelan. Knowing that nobody cares about us, that nobody will do anything for us, that we will continue to suffer, that we have no future, that we only have to adapt to survive.

I wonder how there are so many people mocking and making jokes about what is happening here, when there are still people who do not get three meals a day, entire families who depend on a subhuman salary, retirees who beg for bonuses, sick people who cannot afford treatment, children who receive a deplorable education, professionals who are forced to work in a Chinese shop.

How in the news of other countries they only care about exposing Venezuelans who break the law, but do not talk about all the kids who are forcibly detained for the protests, deprived of their freedom, without being able to have contact with their families, even being tortured. Not to mention what they do to the girls...

How the governments of other countries remain so indifferent to everything, determined to keep their hands off here, knowing all the illegality behind this mandate, drug trafficking, corruption, money laundering, trafficking, exploitation. I guess it is not difficult to buy their loyalty, which is never with the people, but with the highest bidder.

At this point I am no longer surprised by the politicians, but by the people, the same people who are not afraid to put "Free Palestine" everywhere? They can't be upset if I call them hypocrites. They can't be upset because I say that I believe that we Venezuelans also deserve people who support our struggle.

Rather, the ones who should be upset are us, we have every right, seeing as how they actively choose to ignore us. Because apparently Venezuelan women are not important enough for feminist activism, Venezuelan offspring do not matter to the international left, the dead in protests are not martyrs for the privileged who claim to be "conscious".

Others are not to blame for what is happening in Venezuela, but if you actively choose to look away from this I can't wish you not to feel guilty. "Eyes on Venezuela" they said last year. What you saw was not enough for you?

Pensar en lo que pasa en mi país la mayoría de las veces me deja en un estado emocional muy caótico, como sé que es para la mayoría de mis paisanos. Por un lado siento una profunda tristeza por todo lo que hemos tenido que aguantar, de manera completamente injusta e inentendible; y por otro, me invade la rabia, por la impotencia, y por ver la indiferencia de todos hacia esto.

Desde que nací me he encontrado en este régimen dictatorial, que hasta el sol de hoy muchos siguen absurdamente refiriéndose a él como "mala administración" o "gobierno socialista". No gente, esto es una DICTADURA y es tan ofensivo en este punto negar ese hecho. No se trata sólo de lo que pasó el 28 de julio del año pasado, cuando se demostró tan evidentemente el fraude que vive Venezuela día a día, sino también de todo lo que hubo antes y que a nadie nunca le importó.

Todas las violaciones a los derechos humanos que suceden a diario, la mafia y la corrupción que se manejan bajo la alfombra en cada puesto importante, la censura y manipulación de los medios, lo grisáceo que se vuelve el panorama cada día que pasa, cómo la esperanza agoniza en el corazón de cada venezolano. Saber que a nadie le importamos, que nadie hará nada al respecto por nosotros, que seguiremos sufriendo, que no tenemos futuro, que solo nos queda adaptarnos para poder sobrevivir.

Me pregunto cómo existen tantas personas burlándose y haciendo chistes sobre lo que pasa aquí, cuando todavía hay personas que no llegan a las tres comidas al día, familias completas que dependen de un sueldo infrahumano, jubilados que mendigan bonos, enfermos que no pueden costear tratamientos, niños que reciben una educación deplorable, profesionales que se ven forzados a trabajar en un chino.

Cómo en los noticieros de otros países solo les importa exponer a los venezolanos que rompen la ley, pero no hablar sobre todos los chamos que están detenidos forzosamente por las protestas, privados de libertad, sin poder tener contacto con sus familias, incluso siendo torturados. Sin mencionar lo que les hacen a las chamas...

Cómo los gobiernos de otros países siguen tan indiferentes a todo, decididos a no meter mano aquí, sabiendo toda la ilegalidad que hay detrás de este mandato, el narcotráfico, la corrupción, el lavado de dinero, la trata, la explotación. Supongo que no es difícil comprar su lealtad, la cuál nunca está con el pueblo, sino con el mejor postor.

En este punto ya no me sorprende eso de los políticos la verdad, ¿Pero de la gente? ¿Los mismos que día a día no le temen a poner en todos lados "Palestina Libre"? No se pueden molestar si los llamo hipócritas. No se pueden molestar porque yo diga que creo que los venezolanos tambien nos merecemos gente que apoye nuestra lucha.

Más bien, los que deberíamos molestarnos somos nosotros, tenemos todo el derecho, viendo como deciden activamente ignorarnos. Porque aparentemente las mujeres venezolanas no son lo suficientemente importantes para el activismo feminista, la prole venezolana no le importa a la izquierda internacional, los muertos en protestas no son mártires para los privilegiados que dicen ser "conscientes".

Los demás no son culpables de lo que sucede en Venezuela, pero si activamente decides apartar la mirada ante esto no te puedo desear que no te sientas culpable. "Eyes on Venezuela" decían el año pasado ¿Lo que viste no fue suficiente para ti?
