i get it man, listen to what you want, right? People should be listening to any genre of music they like, thats perfectly normal. But for the love of god can we stop labeling everything as 'alt'? No, your overproduced, clean pop that has slightly emotional lyrics is not emo man. Its just not it. Emo, alt, hardcore, punk, grunge arent these nice clean, polished genres that should be talking about emotions exclusively (emo stands for emotional HARDCORE), theyre inherently political and left wing. Theyre anti establishment. Anti status quo. Theyre meant to be harsh at times. Offensive towards the oppressors. How have people forgotten this and why have we accepted this? It is way easier to focus on everyday things than to challenge the system but still man these genres have deep roots in political ideologies and fighting back agaisnt whats 'normal' and capitalism. Also not to mention that A LOT of everyday problems can be traced back to capitalism so it really is just very weird that people have been completely ignoring it. Thanks for reading lol

i noticed it's become fashionable to be "weird" and "alternative" and oh my god, dude, if you only knew how tired I am of people who look the same and think they are special, just listening to tiktok music and not delving into genres, politics and the history of subcultures in general
and when they see a truly alternative person they laugh at them because they don't look like the stereotypical alternative person
I was bullied at school for being weird, but now it's fashionable and cute to be like that
real man its so annoying. And there isnt much you can do about it, like what do you do, tell them to stop selling this idea that being ;weird; is trendy now? No man lol, not only will they not stop cause they dont care about anything with substance but the brands and corporations dont want it to stop cause its another thing they can package and sell to these kids. All of these issues really wouldnt exist if people read, absorbed, did some critical thinking and started following and acting upon the ideologies these subcultures come with ffs.
