I agree with Lab Specimenโs Blog post because sheโs right.ย Honestly, itโs getting wild on SpaceHey, and not in a good way. I'm seeing so many people flock here talking about how they want the "old internet" vibe back, but then they turn around and bring all the garbage from other platforms with them. It's like they haven't even tried to understand what made the early internet cool.
Seriously, the drama is getting out of hand. You can't scroll for five minutes without hitting some "callout" blog at the top, and half the time it feels like it's based on fake screenshots or just plain misunderstandings. People are accusing each other of wild stuff, sending threats, and for what? It's turning this place into a cesspool, just like Discord or Twitter. Myspace wasn't like this. We gotta do something if we want to save this site from becoming totally toxic.
And don't even get me started on the popularity contest thing. Who cares about being "popular" on SpaceHey? It literally means nothing in the real world. These people are obsessed with fake internet points and it's fueling all this unnecessary drama. They're going to kill SpaceHey with all their toxicity, and then they'll be complaining there's no good social media left. Newsflash: it'll be their own fault.
What do you guys think? Are we just gonna let SpaceHey go down this path?

@crazy flips 3d I completely agree with this post. SpaceHey was meant to be a refreshing break from the negativity and fast-paced toxicity of modern social media, but lately itโs starting to feel like weโre heading down the same path. People say they miss the "old internet" vibe, but then bring over all the same drama, callouts, and attention-seeking behavior from places like Twitter and Discord. It defeats the whole purpose of being here.

not hating but myspace and the early internet in general was toxic as fuck. not like i was really there to experience it, but i feel like its common knowledge. just read about all of the shit that happened on stickydrama, or go onto some archived myspace page from 2008 and count how many f slurs were used as insults, n words being used by white kids, and the tolerance of harassment and the doxxing of children (use the jessi slaughter situation as an example). the internet will always be toxic and drama filled, its just more moderated now. i really dont get how people come to the conclusion that the internet was in any way less toxic than it is now.

"Myspace wasn't like this" you would be surprised, well, id say it was even worse, saying this as someone who was too young to be on myspace at the time
i dont think the internet ever changed about this, it just came out in another form.
i went to the wayback machine for fun, on youtube, myspace, tumblr, etc. most people in the comments were so mean and literally had no filter. i never thought i would say this, but, it was kind of worse back then, and less secure. people on myspace were doing popularity competitions, doing drama, well - always has been, it never disapeard. there was always and will have always drama, longing for popularity gain, toxicity, etc
not saying its perfect and the most secure, it is just better in some way, idk if you see what i mean. we think it was better before because we are looking in a place that we probably never lived, or that we lived and only kept the positive aspects of it, on the internet in general. we absolutely want the safest and best space ever, but sadly, that wont ever exist. though that doesnt mean we cant make it a better place. there are still people fighting to make internet a better place and a safer space. it reminds me of the people wanting to live in the 50s so bad because of the appealing and pleasing aesthetic, but had no idea of the lifestyle and the societal state
for example i was on the internet very young, dude, gore and p0rn shit was so easily accessible on the top of the iceberg. people were so mean and non filtered, but it was way worse than you think, think about instagram reels comments but 100x worse and more insulting. i remember having horrible content on my youtube homepage. not saying that doesnt exist anymore, but tbh its a bit more secure now
what you can do with those annoying drama and unecessary callout blogs, is to block the people. thats what i do, everytime it occurs, so i dont see more coming from them. or simply go past them, to be fair i havent seen THAT much drama or unecessary callout blogs, just a few times, as the usual internet moment

What do you propose on doing, then? As much as I agree, I find the drama and need for popularity to be ornery and frivolous- quite pathetic, really. Personally, I just ignore it for time being. If they came from TikTok and other stimulating companies, they'll bore out soon enough.
I often like to remark that Spacehey is "unsocial", I find the irony to be funny... less so if it actually becomes unsocial.

i'm new to spacehey and i think these type of stuff shouldn't be on here because the internet is already back and forth drama so why should be bring it here?

this is lowk such a non issue,
if spacehey turns into a garbage site, then we cant do anything about it, a year back, my friend who also has an account on here, told me about the "gore raids" that used to happen here, and problems with the tcc, this site was doomed from the very beginning, you guys are just starting to realize it now
what the hell is a gore raid

Tiktok and Twitter rats should have stayed in their shitty spaces instead of bringing their stuff here.
This is social media, this is a space to add people and talk to them or see blogs and have fun for a while, not your fucking chronically online site where you try to be morally superior and take a bad jokes seriously.
I hope they get tired of being here at some point and finally let us be happy
agreed, pretty much what I was thinking.

(Idk anything about this so this comment is more of a rant but I'm gonna say it anyway)It feels like people always have something to prove on the internet and try to affirm their egos by: arguing, doxxing, purity testing, "callouts" and so much more. Like people can't sit down and say "why do you like this" genuinely, and try to stomp people out for not bending to their will. Like the internet isn't fight or flight or fawn bro, just be nice.

LMFAO, drama is dumb overall. People just need to stay in their own lane. The only things ive seen are DNI lists, cool people and blogs.
rottingc0rpse
no because its getting annoying when i cant scroll and try to find fun blogs without running into someone complaining about nothing or just picking fights with someone
Sickmuse072
this is so real
kovek
we gotta do something abt it, i dont want this website turning into twt
blueberryxyl
thats interesting, ive never come across stuff like that on here
Same, the only drama related things I've seen are like, posts saying not to do it, or a post saying they don't like fandoms in DNIs

Lol, "flipflap" was someone's username. They made a post about someone else who posted uncensored gore -- the problem was, THEY ALSO POSTED THE GORE IN THEIR POST x.x
The original post was deleted and the user was banned, but flipflap also got nuked for reposting it. Then flipflap and their friends complained that the mods were being unfair... the mods hopped in the thread and were like "uhh, no? This is common sense, posting gore is NOT ALLOWED PERIOD, regardless of what the intent is. It's an instant ban no matter who it is or why it was posted."
I'm 100% with the mods on this one; like bro how cooked do you have to be to REPOST UNCENSORED GORE and then be like "hey guys look isn't this gross that guy who posted it should be banned" and then get mad when the mods do their job X.X
I had also made an awareness post about it, but used NO screenshots and just included the guy's username and specifically told people NOT to click on the post, just report it.
