Please be careful out there.
I don't know if you guys have heard about this, but last night a pro-Palestinian man fatally shot two Israeli embassy aides. Regardless of how you feel about this shooting, a couple of things are clear: The U.S. government is likely going to use this shooting as further proof that pro-Palestinans are dangerous terrorists.* Additionally, this shooting will only incentivize the government to crack down on pro-Palestinian protesters even more. Lastly, due to the fact that the shooter said the words "free Palestine" before carrying out the shooting, the government is likely going to begin treating the phrase "free Palestine" as some kind of terrorist slogan. Remain vigilant, but do not let fear get to your head. Yes, the propaganda machine is going to be pushing out even more anti-Palestine propaganda now that this shooting has occurred. However, we need to keep speaking up for Palestine. Not only are Palestinians living in Gaza facing widespread starvation, a lack of access to clean water, disease, and the risk of being killed at any moment due to bombings, but they are also facing the possibility of being forced out of (a.k.a. ethnically cleansed from) Gaza entirely. Israel intends on occupying the Gaza strip, and it is clear that part of occupying the Gaza Strip involves ethnic cleansing. The finance minister of Israel, Bezalel Smotrich, claimed on Monday that Israel is going to be "conquering, cleansing, and remaining in Gaza until Hamas is destroyed". Additionally, he said that Israel is on its way to "disassembling Gaza, and leaving it as piles of rubble, with total destruction [which has] no precedent globally".
It kills me that blatantly genocidal statements such as those made by Bezalel Smotrich will be covered far less than this recent shooting. I'm not saying that the deaths of these two Israeli embassy aides should not be discussed at all, I'm just saying that I would love to see the mainstream media cover the genocide in Palestine like it covers the deaths of Israelis. It kills me that more than 50,000 Palestinians have been murdered in this genocide, and yet all that the mainstream media wants to focus on is painting the perpetrators of this genocide in a positive light (I should mention that by perpetrators, I mean the Israeli government, the Israeli media, and the Israeli military). The person who shot the two Israeli embassy aides was immediately arrested, and that just made me think about how many Israeli war criminals there are getting away with far worse than a single shooting. It is clear that the state (including the state-run media) does not see Palestinians as human beings worthy of living happy, fulfilling lives in a free Palestine, and that absolutely destroys me every time I think about it. We truly live in such a cruel world. Free Palestine. 🇵🇸

* This is already happening. Republican representative Randy Fine of Florida has stated that "Palestinianism" (this word reminds me of the word "transgenderism") is an form of terror and evil that needs to be eliminated. He also called for Gaza to be nuked. According to him, "the only end of the conflict is complete and total surrender by those who support Muslim terror." He then goes on to state that "In World War II, we did not negotiate a surrender with the Japanese. We nuked the Japanese twice in order to get unconditional surrender. That needs to be the same here." Nice guy, huh? (https://truthout.org/articles/republican-calls-for-gaza-to-be-nuked-like-hiroshima-and-nagasaki/)

Also, if you do support the shooting/violent protest be sure not to post about it publicly as it will be used to 'prove' that all pro-palestine people support violence and terrorism. For now it is best to condemn all violent resistance or at least that which results in death or serious injury.
