(This blog will be continuously editted as I gather information. Last updated 6/2/2025)
original rant:
Did you know that officially, as in the conservative estimate provided by the Gaza Health Ministry and over 160 journalists and reporters, the civilian death toll in Gaza is over 50,000 people? That's 50,000 individual lives taken by the state of Israel. Funded by countries like the United States. That is 17 9/11s. That is 20 Pearl Harbors. If a train crash is a tragedy, why the actual fuck is 50,000 civilian lives-- at the VERY LEAST 30% of which are children-- passing under the radar?? Where is the outrage??
I can't really sit here and say I've been the best advocate. I've "been on Palestine's side" since this started, but like many others, I've lost focus. There's not really an excuse other than privilege, and I don't want to throw a pity party about my failings when I can regain that focus. With my current knowledge, I don't know if I can do much more than boycott right now, but I really don't want to continue my mediocre at best "activism". I hate this. I hate how quiet it is over here.
God, that's 50,000 individuals. Civilians, not soldiers either. One baby with parents, who grew up, maybe had some pets, played with their friends, got their first phone!, graduated school, got a job, created art, made mistakes, made a family; just dead. times 5. Multiplied by 100. Times 100 more. I forgot how many real videos I have seen of these people being crushed, sniped, bombed, starved, raped, and beaten. what the fuck
I don't do much on here but post silly pictures and rant, so I figure I could at least try to use whatever voice I have on here to remind whoever I can about the modern genocides. I need to do more research. I'll share what I can.

RESOURCES!!!!
Learning:
- decolonizepalestine.com - Learn more about Palestine and its history here. This site has a plethora of good resources about the land, Indigenous population, rainbow washing, and a thorough reading list that I plan to go through on my own.
Donating:
- UNRWA - UNRWA usa provides water, shelter, and counselling to Palestinian refugees. I have so far donated to this organization through one of the fundraisers.
- Doctors Without Borders - This organization provides independent medical and humanitarian assistance to over 70 countries. Currently focusing on helping people in Gaza. I plan to donate to this one this month.
- Operation Olive Branch Direct Aid Initiative - This grassroots organization provides and works with other partners who provide direct aid; water & food, camps, shelter, medical support, education, and more to people in Gaza. They have met their goal and will be expanding to a phase 2. I will be donating here when I can.
Other stuff:
- Action Checklist - Not entirely sure how up-to-date this site is, but it gives a tutorial on how to set up auto-emails, which you can use to email your representatives daily. It also has more links to other resources and other ways you can help.
- Operation Olive Branch Link Tree - Lots of good resources here.
