The Places We Call Home

Some places aren't just coordinates on a map, they're people, moments, states of mind. They're a laugh you can't recreate, a scent that hits you out of nowhere, a heartbeat that once synced perfectly with yours. We call them "home" because for a while, they made us feel safe, seen, whole.

But not all homes are built to last.Sometimes, we outgrow them. Sometimes, they vanish in the silence of an unanswered call or the fading of a photograph. Sometimes, they're people who drift away, not out of anger, but because life pulled in different directions. And sometimes, they’re versions of ourselves we no longer recognize.

There’s a quiet ache in knowing you can’t go back, not physically, not emotionally. You can return to the street, the building, the old text thread but it won’t be the same. The energy shifted. The light in the window dimmed. And maybe, so did you.

But here’s the thing about these lost homes: they still live inside us. They taught us how to love. How to leave. How to hold on. How to let go.And maybe, they weren't meant to be permanent. Maybe they were there to show us what "home" feels like, so we’d recognize it when it comes again.

Because it will. In a new person, a new place, a new piece of yourself. And this time, you’ll know how sacred it truly is
