Gary Webb & The CIA / United States Government's Role In The Drug Trade (DEEP-DIVE) Capitalism, Today I talk to you about, The UNSOLVED True Crime Case Daily Stories Of War On Drugs And The Drug Trafficking Trade Orchestrated By The CIA and Government forces, I talk about, 18 years after it was published, “Dark Alliance,” the San Jose Mercury News’s bombshell investigation into links between the cocaine trade, Nicaragua’s Contra rebels, and African American neighborhoods in California, Gary Webb wrote about the CIA-contra-cocaine connection during the U.S. government's dirty coups and wars in Central America in the 1980s. Remains one of the most explosive and controversial exposés in American journalism. The 20,000-word journalism series enraged black communities and rightfully so, it prompted Congressional hearings, and became one of the first major national security stories in history to blow up online. It also sparked an aggressive backlash from the nation’s most powerful capitalist pig media outlets, which devoted considerable resources to discredit author Gary Webb’s reporting. The Story Behind the Crack Explosion,” Gary Webb’s series reported that in addition to waging a proxy war for the U.S. government against Nicaragua’s revolutionary Sandinista government in the 1980s, elements of the CIA-backed Contra rebels were also involved in trafficking drugs and cocaine to the U.S. in order to fund their counter-revolutionary campaign. The secret flow of drugs and money, Webb reported, had a direct link to the subsequent explosion of crack cocaine addiction that had devastated California’s most vulnerable African American neighborhoods. A widely read newspaper series leads many Americans to believe CIA is guilty of at least complicity, if not conspiracy, in the outbreak of crack cocaine in America’s cities, “considerable evidence” that the Contras were linked to running drugs and guns — and that the U.S. government knew about it. Ricky “Freeway” Ross, a legendary L.A. drug dealer; Oscar Danilo Blandón Reyes, considered by the U.S. government to be Nicaragua’s biggest cocaine dealer living in the United States impact on the drug market in California and elsewhere, and the disproportionate sentencing of African Americans under crack cocaine laws, More than a decade before Wikileaks and Edward Snowden, Webb showcased the power and reach of online journalism

The CIA “didn’t really need to lift a finger to try to ruin Gary Webb’s credibility,” Schou told The Intercept. “They just sat there and watched these journalists go after Gary like a bunch of piranhas.” At least one journalist who helped lead the campaign to discredit Webb, feels remorse for what he did, Webb's bosses at the Mercury News wilted under the pressure and disowned the "Dark Alliance" series. Gary Webb was effectively run out of mainstream journalism--he was UNALIVED in 2004, The U.S. government has always been willing to ally itself with figures ranging from unsavory to repulsive if that serves its interests. During the Second World War and after, for example, the U.S. arranged an alliance with La Cosa Nostra in Italy, via an imprisoned Mafia kingpin in the U.S., that gave the mob free reign to operate criminal enterprises in return for its assistance in the war against Mussolini's fascist regime--and later, against the Communists and other left-wing forces that were poised to dominate postwar Italian politics, During the 1950s and 1960s, the CIA protected the Corsican mob and its famous "French Connection" that was a major source of heroin imported into the U.S, IN 1979, the Nicaraguan revolution overthrew the hated U.S.-backed dictator Anastasio Somoza, Oscar Danilo Blandón, a former bureaucrat in the Somoza regime and son of a wealthy slumlord and cattle rancher. By 1984, Ross was the main distributor of crack cocaine in LA, selling to the biggest dealers in town, including both the Crips and Bloods gangs. Meanwhile, Blandón was grossing more than $100 million per year, Geopolitics, profit, and poppies: how the CIA turned Afghanistan into a failed narco-state, A 2000 ban on opium cultivation The Taliban had hoped that the eradication program would win favor in Washington and entice the United States to provide humanitarian aid. But unfortunately, history had other ideas. On September 11, 2001, the U.S. experienced a massive case of blowback, as Bin Laden’s forces launched attacks on New York and Washington. The U.S. ignored the Taliban’s offer to hand him over to a third party, instead opting to invade the country. Less than a month after the planes hit the World Trade Center, U.S. troops were patrolling the fields of Afghanistan, notorious drug kingpins benefited, having gained NATO forces’ favor, the British used its opium to subdue and economically conquer much of China, ETC!!!

...PURE EVIL The Legal & Illegal Cannabis Trade Industry A Growing Environmental Concern, ETC!!! Today I talk about, The, UNSOLVED True Crime Case Daily Stories, Of The Cannabis Farming Industry, I talk about in this YouTube Video, Legal and illegal cannabis: A cause for growing environmental concern, Legalization of cannabis for medicinal and recreational use is an expanding global trend in the U.S. and globally, while the illicit market continues to feed large swaths of demand, Cannabis, marijuana, pot, bud, grass or herb — no matter its nickname, this go-to drug has long been associated with the essence of “green” and connected to eco-friendly movements. Yet, as legalization for medicinal and recreational use gathers pace globally, concerns are rising over the environmental impacts of this nascent industry as it emerges from the shadows of its illicit past, Cannabis is the world’s drug of choice, consumed by an estimated 200 million people annually, according to the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC). A growing number of countries worldwide have passed legislation legalizing its use, Malta became the first European country to fully legalize it, and Germany may soon follow suit, with potential ripple effects across the European Union, In the U.S., legal cannabis is expected to generate as much as $43 billion by 2025. Meanwhile, U.S. illegal cultivation continues feeding large swaths of demand to the tune of $65 billion in 2020. With legalization, analyzing environmental impacts is becoming easier as compared to tracking the effects of the clandestine illicit trade, As seen with pesticide misuse, large illicit grow operations have caused or exacerbated land use and habitat issues in the areas where they are located. Many have caused significant changes to the landscape, including ground cover and/or erosion impacts, newly cut roads, diversion of water courses, and drainage of wetlands. Because of this, some states, such as Colorado, have taken steps that favor indoor grow operations and discourage outdoor growing, Overuse of freshwater is a looming global crisis, with scientists declaring the planetary boundary for freshwater, But in states such as California, which have battled worsening drought conditions, pushed deeper into the red by intensifying climate change, every drop of water matters

Pesticides and rodenticides are often used on cannabis sites on public and private lands Impacts on wildlife have already been noted, but the long-term effects on ecosystems are still unknown, Species such as the Pacific fisher (Martes pennanti) are riddled with these chemicals, he says. Around 80% have been found to contain them. Further research has shown species such as the endangered northern spotted owl (Strix occidentalis caurina) and barred owl (Strix varia) are also affected, Away from public lands, the tendency to grow on private land in remote areas is a biodiversity concern, Experts say the forests in Madagascar are being burned and cleared primarily to make space for fields of marijuana and other crops Tsaratanana’s rich biodiversity includes at least eight species of lemur, at least half of which are already threatened. The reserve is also full of locally endemic plants and animals. For example, there are at least 25 amphibians and reptiles that have been found only in the reserve or the broader Tsaratanana region, herpetologists say. Many of those, such as two types of leaf-tailed geckos (Uroplatus spp.), have only recently been described in the literature,  In a well-known 2008 study published in Global Change Biology, Raxworthy showed that Tsaratanana’s reptiles and amphibians were moving upslope as their environment warmed due to climate change — some of the first scientific evidence that tropical animals were already moving to higher ground, Illegal marijuana cultivation threatens Nigeria’s forests and chimpanizes, Plastic Pollution in medical dispensaries or retail stores is sold in many forms, including cigarettes, oils, resins or as edible products like brownies, cookies or gummies, ETC!!!
