Everytime abroad I would be asked about my country I would feel a weird feeling thar I was never able to describe. Italy is the dream country, heaven on itself, for eveyone in the world and I won't deny that it's beautiful. Never in my life I've seen a place more beautiful than italy, yet I can't help but frown when they tell me how they wish they could live here. I' not out here saying that it's the worst county in the world since there are many county im worst conditions and other that are falling drastically as we speak. Yet while they are recognize for their flaws italy is not. It's like a taboo topic
Italy as we speak is governed by a neo fascist party. Recently it was approved the new dld sicurezza that actively tries to limit our rights to organize protest. Protest are not new to Italy but recently as part of the younger generation I can confidently say that mostly young people are fighting and as one of them life is scary. Police brutality is nothing new and there are multiple minors who make the headlines after being hurt by police officers all over Italy. The sad part is that is not only the government, but also the people. Italians have been convinced that our enemy is immigrants and not only say extremely racist things and ignore how our government is deporting those illegal immigrants who "threaten us". The fascist in the street, both the ones with swastikas on and the one who hide it (sometimes without even knowing), are our enemy with their trump supporting close minded goverment. As an alternative person part of the lgbtqia+ comunity walking down the street and being often jumped at by them is just my reality. In the schools teachers and students spit dogwhistles and racist rhetoricals. In the headlines there are femminicides and wars our county support. They try to censor our voice on every media to isolate us.
I do belive change will soon come from our younger generation but I can't help being scared for our safety. Like all of my generation when I'll be hold enough I'll leave italy for a better future (topic I didn't even touch on in this rant), but italy will always follow me wherever ago that will never feel as home as my home county.

Real change can never originate from politics, only within community. Your country might be overregulated by neo-fascists one year, and flooded with millions of third world immigrants by neoliberals the next, yet your nation's interests aren't served either way, only those of "special interest groups".
Want to keep Italy beautiful? Stop buying into the ideologies and false dichotomies the propagandists peddle, and become involved in your local area's issues.
tyy for commenting!
Well while I agree with you and I am part of multiple communities that focus on strengthening the people and help each other away from political parties I do still feel like it's not enough, while I'll of course continue being part of them I still feel that the help we give doesn't balance out the bad that is produced by our goverment. That's where that rant came from. And well on how to fix that it's all up to anyone's opinion that varies a lot and that I personally don't have well defined mine yet
[sorry if this didn't fully respond your comment, i might got the wrong meaning]
