Dark Aero

Dark Aero, also known as Mata Nero or Frutiger Ego, is a sub-genre of Frutiger Aero, popular from c. 2006-2015. Dark Aero uses a darker color palette contrasting the depth-filled colorful motifs characteristic of his "sibling" Frutiger Aero!

In the early 2000s, Dark Aero emerged as an alternative variant of Frutiger Aero, these aesthetic involved a visual style with darker, more somber tones. Unlike the Frutiger Aero, which prioritized the "Eco" of the thing, involving nature for the most part, Dark Aero showed a futuristic air for the most part.

It was only in the late 2000s and early 2010s that the popularity of this aesthetic grew, being described as more "elegant" and used in various systems and programs.

If you guys notice, Dark Aero is an aesthetic that is still very present in our electronics! It's definitely great for operating systems and cleaner aesthetic, but I still prefer the other types of "Aero"!
