no, cuz i hate this

So, Spacehey exists. You know, that weird little MySpace throwback site where people pretend it’s 2004 again, but with all the baggage of 2024 internet lurking in the corners. And yeah, there are weirdos. Of course there are. There are always weirdos. The internet is basically just a giant room where everyone’s yelling, and some of those people are yelling about bizarre stuff, or sliding into your DMs with nonsense, or roleplaying like they’re still in middle school even though they’re definitely grown adults.

It’s not just Spacehey, though. Every online space has them—the overly intense commenters, the people who take nostalgia way too far, the ones who just don’t get social cues. Some of them are harmless, just awkward or way too into their own thing. Others? Well, that’s where it gets sketchy. Because some of those weirdos aren’t just weird—they’re dangerous.

And that brings us to the other thing: adults texting minors. Why? Like, seriously, why? It’s not hard to figure out that a 30-year-old hitting up a 15-year-old in DMs is creepy. And yet, it happens. All the time. On every platform. Discord, Instagram, TikTok, hell, even in comment sections under YouTube videos. Some of them pretend to be teens, some just don’t care, and some are so deep in their own delusion that they think it’s totally fine.

You’d think it would be obvious. You’d think people would know better. But no. There’s always someone who thinks they’re the exception, that their intentions are ~different~, that they’re just being ~friendly~. Except it’s never just friendly, is it? It starts with "hey, cool profile," then it’s "you’re so mature for your age," and then suddenly they’re asking for pics or telling you to keep secrets. Classic playbook. And yet, it still works on way too many kids.

Maybe it’s the anonymity. Maybe it’s the way the internet makes everything feel less real. Maybe some people are just messed up. But it keeps happening, no matter how many warnings get posted, no matter how many accounts get banned. There’s always another creep sliding into someone’s DMs, always another kid thinking, "This guy’s cool, he gets me," until they don’t.

And the worst part? A lot of them get away with it. They delete messages, they make new accounts, they move to smaller platforms where no one’s paying attention. Spacehey, random forums, obscure chat apps—anywhere with less moderation, they’ll be there. Because that’s how the internet works. The weirdos and the creeps always find a way in.

So yeah. That’s the state of things. A bunch of nostalgia-obsessed adults roleplaying the 2000s next to a bunch of other adults who really shouldn’t be talking to kids. And in the middle of it all? Regular people just trying to exist online without getting harassed or manipulated.
