So I was talking to a metal fan and... I just said that I listen to black metal. Not even often but it's the metal genre I enjoy the most probably. Sometimes I enjoy some metalcore as well tho. Anyways that person was blaming me for not knowing Metallica's top songs. I literally said that I don't really like the band so why tf should I know that? Yeah... I tried to just say that I don't have to know the lore of bands that I don't like and they started to insult me like... what?ย
People need to respect/accept other people's tastes more ngl

theres no way he thinks that is black metal. the "i was talking to a metal fan" part is so ironic. if he thinks that is black metal he knows nothing about metal in general. also metal fans are getting so corny now, me being one myself mostly listening to black metal and dsbm (its not in my profile because im too lazy to change it from a while back), metal fans are so quick to call a person out for "not knowing enough" and are so quick to call people "posers" only posers call people posers!!! its to the point where they dont even care about the music anymore they just care more about if other people know it or not which i find so upsetting. this is actually sad to see. nothing screams "poser" more than a metalhead who calls people posers for not knowing EVERYTHING about it. god i hate people recently.

People who say shit like "name x amount of songs" never have an opinion worth the time it takes to listen to them.
I have a ton of band shirts where I couldn't even name one song, but I saw them live somewhere and wanted to support them.

Bruh Metallica isn't even black metal- I've experienced similar things before because I don't really like Metallica either (just their music, I respect their work). It's really annoying (โ ~โ _โ ~โ ;โ )
