I want to talk shit about a boy in my class

Well, let me contextualize things here. My name is Sundaey and I recently entered high school and there was a boy in my class who said something so horrible that I harbored a mortal hatred for him.

When I arrived in the classroom, at the beginning of the day, people in my class were discussing the music they were going to put on YouTube on the SmartTV in our classroom. Some wanted to put on Legião Urbana (a Brazilian band that has a huge success here even after a long time, their songs are very good, pls listen to Tempo Perdido.) And this boy was shouting everywhere he wanted because he wanted to hear Zé Felipe (a Brazilian sub-celebrity, he's a funk "singer". His music is so bad, honestly, he depends on autotune).

But! If it was just that, everything would still be fine, I really don't care if he has bad musical taste and is just another NPC in Brazilian society, the problem started when I and a few other people in my class started making fun of and insulting Zé Felipe, saying that you have to be very sad to like his music. And he got offended and started talking bad about Legião Urbana, LIKE, MAN, YOU LISTEN TO ZÉ FELIPE YOU DON'T HAVE THE RIGHT TO SPEAK BAD ABOUT ALMOST ALL ARTISTS, WHY DO YOU KEEP TALKING!?

He said in a proud tone that his personality is based entirely on TikTok, HOW CAN HE BE HAPPY THAT WAY!?!? Seriously, imagine you don't have your own taste, you don't have your own opinions, your life is based on trends and you think that only what trends say is cool is cool, exactly like I said "You have to be very sad to like Zé Felipe". His taste is entirely based on fads and only singers who started to be successful recently (like, about 3 years ago) he simply doesn't like anything even remotely old, while he listens to 15 seconds of "Aliança-Tribalista" on tiktok. He says he listens to "young people's music", most of which just repeats the chorus hundreds of times (don't get me wrong, I also love current music, but the music from his bubble is just more of the same).

In the end they put Zé Felipe on just to shut him up because he wouldn't stop shouting in that shrill voice of his. Their group of friends were making fun of his music taste (everyone now knows he's basic and has no real personality except being effeminate btw🤭). After the noise pollution that was that song ended, they played Tempo Perdido and it was beautiful, me and my friends singing out loud, everyone was happy.

But then he decided to talk shit about Taylor Swift because one of her friends listens to her music. I personally don't like Taylor or her music, but what made me angry is that he is literally a fan of Zé Felipe, as he has the audacity to speak badly about some big artist, only if it was Doja Cat or something similar it would be understandable, but we are talking about Taylor Swift! She hasn't been in any controversy for years! I told him that he didn't even have the right to say bad things about someone like Taylor (I never thought I would be defending Taylor Swift in my entire life...) But even someone like me who openly doesn't like her is aware of the impact she made on the music industry, even if in my opinion her songs are basic, I KNOW SHE'S GIANT, and I respect that!☝ But when I went to tell that boy, he simply said that "they are on the same level"💀.... HE JUST COMPARED A SUB-CELEBRITY WHO IS ONLY KNOWN IN BRAZIL AND ALMOST ALL OF HER SONGS DEPEND ON AUTOTUNE TO BE LISTENABLE TO ONE OF THE GREATEST POP SINGERS WHO ONLY DOES HIT AND HAS A VERY GOOD VOICE!?
