The Wonderful 101 (Remastered): First Impressions

Mind you, I have only played the tutorial and the first level.

This game is...cool! Unfortunately it took me quite some time to get the hang of the controls and special attacks...and how the game works, and I died an embarrassing amount of times (4) on the first level, but this game so far is really neat! game feel, art, music and the like are all on point! No wonder people praise this game!

One funny thing though is that everytime the narrator was explaining how the wonders and their superpowers worked, since he goes on for quite a while, and the wonders are in a still shot (no movement) they start to struggle to keep the same pose. Was pretty funny stuff. Oh I also really like the costume design for Wonder Red and Wonder Blue. Though all the other wonders are pretty ridiculous, lol. What do you mean there's a BEER wonder? Camera wonder? phone booth wonder? Oh well, I guess silliness is the game's bread and butter.

It seems playing this game (on switch) in handheld mode is the optimal choice. I was playing it on my tv.

Despite my own personal hiccups, I say this game is off to a great start. It's stylish, colorful, and fun.
