My Favorite Figures from History

1. Herschel Grynszpan (my pfp)

At only 17 years old, he assassinated Ermst vom Rath, a German government official. Why? Because he was enraged about the deportation of his family, which left them stuck at the border in poor conditions. It was rumored that vom Rath and Grynszpan were in a homosexual relationship.

2. Gavrilo Princip

Princip was a part of a group called "The Black Hand" located in Sarajevo, Bosnia. The archduke, Franz Ferdinand had annexed part of Bosnia and The Black Hand were not happy. They made a plan to assassinate Ferdinand by catching him during his public appearance in Sarajevo. The first few attempts had failed, but somehow, the archduke's driver had taken a wrong turn, where Princip was (he was most likely not buying a sandwich, contrary to popular belief). The archduke's and his wife's death was the start of WWI.

3. Mathias Rust (idk much about this, sorry for inaccuracies)

Rust is a German aviator who, during the late 80's as a teenager, flew to Russia to attempt to "reduce tensions from both sides in the Cold War". Soviet air controls monitored Rust, but did not get permission to shoot down his personal plane, as he was flagged as friendly. Once he landed, he was sentanced to 4 years in a general labor camps, but was released after 14 months.
