White nationalism in America

In what world can ICE conduct a massive deportation scheme of undocumented immigrants and have this not lead to discrimination and racial profiling? 

How do you identify an undocumented immigrant? 

America has an extremely high population of Mexican immigrants. Latinos have been subject to a slew of racist propaganda delegitimizing their place as American citizens under the Trump administration. Although racism towards Mexican people did not originate during the Trump administration, and they have been subject to it for decades. Trump's plans to conduct the largest deportation in history is paving the way for racist propaganda to be circulated. The idea that Mexican people and other undocumented immigrants are criminals is propaganda being spread by the Trump administration as a justification as to why these mass deportations are happening. 

Do you remember how in my last blog post about propaganda we spoke about scapegoating? Well here is a present day example of that. Immigrants aren't "aliens" who transport drugs and bring crime into the country from South America, these are people with families. It should also be noted that a majority of the Immigrants living in America do in fact have birthright citizenship. (Which Trump tried to take away) The deportation of millions of latinos living in America only gives these government organisations with long repertoires of institutionalized racism like ICE and the police leeway, to perpetuate their racist ideologies in the name of justice and Making America Great Again. 

This goes back to my initial question, how do you identify an undocumented immigrant?

- are they a person of colour? 

- are they speaking an indigenous language? Spanish? Mandarin? Arabic? Hindi?   

- are they living in low-income areas?

or are they just criminals? 

If you see an ICE agent in your area, knowing that there is a large population of immigrants living in your area, draw as much attention to yourself. Run, look distressed, waste their time. Lead them away, give everyone else a chance to hide. 

If you are an immigrant and you have ICE knocking on your door, remember. YOU HAVE RIGHTS. Ask to see a warrant, and tell them to slide it under the door. Do not open the door!

If you're attending protests, you want to blend into the crowd as much as possible. Pack light. Bring water and first aid. Cover your face if you've got tattoos or piercings. Remain as inconspicuous as possible.
