Hey so what the hell is going on on tiktok??
Just last night, tiktok got banned in America (where I live), but i got home from work and see its unbanned?? less than 24 hours after it got banned in the first place???
And THEN, after mentally celebrating a little bit, i see people posting about how Facebook is besties with tiktok rn, (like them having a verified account, and now facebook pushes people to connect their facebook and tiktok accounts together),,, AND the tiktok CEO not only has a sketchy repost public where hes friends with a super sketchy politician but also he no longer has "CEO of tiktok" in his bio??
Guys we're still in the dark timeline as far as i know, cause we're not out of the woods yet. It looks like tiktok is going to become another Meta app, and its just going to become instagram/facebook part 4 you know? im still going to be boycotting Meta and only using Red Book, because even if tiktok is really back, if the guys in charge arent the old ones im not going back.
I really think this is just a publicity stunt to get young folk to vote for trump or whatever, even though hes a bumbling idiot making uneducated choices and shitty split second thoughts into law and using his brainwashed followers to get there. Have you guessed im super left wing?
Speaking of left wing, i think we should stop thinking of us as left vs right and start thinking of us as the people vs the 1 percent. We as the people gain nothing by dividing ourselves against eachother while the 1%s like elon and zuckerfuck get to sip wine and laugh at us.
what we SHOULD be doing is forming community and disconnecting from the system (no matter how cliche that sounds at this point). get a library card or join a local garden, say hi to your neighbor every once in a while and stock up on nessesary survival items in case of an emergency.

Completely agree with you. I've been getting weird vibes from it all. I still have it on my phone (never uninstalled it) and I'm waiting to see what the news or any other officials will say as to why this happened. I'm hoping that it was not sold to Meta, but there's a feeling in my gut that that is the most logical thing that happened. It keeps the general population comfortable regardless of political leanings because we got a glimpse of how irritated people got when Tik Tok was being threatened (people fleeing to RedNote). It's really disappointing that people can only see things in a simple black-and-white manner.
I'll still be using Red Note for the most part, but I will definitely be keeping tabs on Tik Tok.
