The Art of Making Playlists

Hi Bears,

So today I will discuss the art of making playlists whether online or in a physical media format. I think there's a fun element when it comes to making a playlist, making a playlist itself is a form of art in my eyes/ears, you got a theme, and an overall beginning and ending. If I sound like a music hipster nerd...i kinda am. 聽Sue me馃拫 Kinda like Rob from High Fidelity but less douchey. Even for making a playlist on a CD, the process though time-consuming, is actually quite fun. Anyways! I will list some of my favorite playlists that I made on CD or Spotify.

1) My Bipolar 2016-2019 Playlist (Current Favorite)

This gotta be the longest music playlist on my Spotify, with 72 songs & counting, with it being 3Hours long. Contains musicians from the 2016 Soundcloud era, RIP to all of them cuz why tf they keep dying? Underrated gems like Jessie Reyez, and you can fight me about this because she is! Also early Billie Eilish music when she made certified sad hood classics. Oh and Bhad Bhabie, which I know she got almost an entire generation hating on her ofc, but her music ain't really that bad, it does in fact fit with 2018. I say bipolar because of how versatile and crazy it is, like you got JuiceWRLD on one track, then 2018 Summer Walker, and Lana Del Rey on the other. Now you might be wondering why this timeline specifically. Same reason millienials would look back to music from early 2000s to 2014, purely nostalgia. But in hindsight, I do miss the aspect of music around 2016 - 2019, Idk there something that tickles my mind more listening to the music pre-covid. Seeing bitches wearing Thrasher tees and checkered Vans and listening to XXTentacion or Lil Peep. Also remember when people constantly compared Billie Eilish to Lil Xan, and she feed off that by cosplaying as him for a Halloween concert, tattoos and all, Cuz i do. 2018 Billie Eilish is magnificent. Anyways go check it out. My Spotify is AstronautBitch

2) The CD playlist I Made for my bestie

So around the holidays, I made a CD playlist for my good friend who've asked me for a minute to make her one. The process of making it is interesting bc I had her list some song she like a lot, like a list of 42 songs. Then I would add some to tracklist, and add some other songs I feel she'll like as well. Artists include: The Mar铆as, Kali Uchis, Kendrick, Imogen Heap, and early SZA. I also added M.I.A. because 1, one song from hers matches my friends freak, and 2, a part of me feels intense villainous satisfaction that I basically pirated her bitcheass. JKJK馃き So there's obviously a vibe going on with the mixtape which was the planned, and the interest choice I made was not adding the same artists music more then once. Either way she loved it, she plays it a ton since she got a cd player in her car, and apparently her lil brothers like some of the song choices. My mission was completed.

3) POV: Your A Superstar on Coke Playlist聽

This was a cute little playlist I made solely to add Streets of LA by Ayesha Erotica cuz at the time while making that playlist, i was obsessed with Ayesha Erotica (and currently). Plus I was eating up all these mcbling/y2k content on social media, even bought a DVD copy of The Simple Life from the thrift store, which included the original Target receipt from 2005. $5 for a DVD in 2005, tell me what that feels like again? Anyways, this has a mixture of Gaga, Ayesha Erotica, MARINA, Rihanna, and that sixteen song by Ladytron. Also one song called Hypersexuality & Dilfs. Now ofc this is a joke playlist, but it is a fun as hell listen馃槒

4) My DR膾膧MSC膧P膾 playlist聽

This is actually a newest edition to my list of spotify playlists. There are a few songs on here that reminds me of my 2017-2018 era being an angsty af teen listening to nightcore, and owning a Tumblr (before they banned me). This playlist contains a couple of vaporwave-esque music like Blank Banshee, swear to god, EDM music, and a couple of underrated gems like 2018 Charity Vance, and CryWolf. Y'all remember Charity Vance? Cannot just be me, she was literally the embodiment of the 2010's millienial pop singer from I think Florida or LA or somewhere exotic. Then sometime in 2017? she kinda disappeared but returned a year later with a more edgier style with VHS filters and synth sounds, more glamourous. ANYONE?! Last I've heard of her was on her Instagram (which use to have pretty af pictures and music content) now redhead and shows her now "saved" and spreading the message of god. Why always the talented blondes?! IM REALLY JOKING. But MY GOD what a shift in direction. I really did enjoy her 2018 music, unfortunately they are mostly lost and unavailable on spotify, except for a featured song with AWAY(if u don't know who AWAY is, me neither). CHECK IT OUT馃尮

So that is art of making playlists, make sure to give the spotify ones a listen, and go out and make on for fun, or for a friend.聽

bye<3
