We hear it all the time, generalisations of how the mass migration of squids into schools of fish is a negative. How not only are key positions that would otherwise belong to the fish who initially populated the school, but they are also the leading cause of the increasing amount of violent fish crime. These people who generalise as such (usually the epipalagic class or its supporters) are often the first to look towards the parties supporting us hadal and abyssal dwellers as being defensive of the squids, and in some cases even being supportive of their alleged crime.
I do not believe this comes from a place of malice for most, but rather a place of inherent lack of proper education stemming from the fact that this lack of education on the matter is simply in the best interests of the epipalagic class. History has always proven that a scapegoat for whatever trouble is caused is beneficial to the epipalagic classes, and this case is no different. The epipalagics do not want the abyssals to know that the reason more and more fish crime is occuring is because of the constant greed of the epipalagics, nor do they want the hadals to know that the reason the water is getting darker is because of their self interest in dumping oil in the hadal zones. It is in the interest of the epipalagics to blame squid ink for the darkness, and their slippery tentacles for the thievery. It keeps them in power.
As for the loss of fish jobs and fish living spaces im the schools, again this is not a result of squids migrating into the schools, rather an issue of the epipalagics importing cheap tropical fish into the schools for labour at a low cost; the cause of the fish jobs and living space crisis is not the migration of the squids, its the labour migration of tropical fish, at the hands of - you guessed it - the epipalagic class. The squids flee for their lives, the tropical fish that the epipalagics import migrate into the schools in search of better economic status than in their home zones; no, it is not the fault of these migrant species into our schools, rather it is the fault of the epipalagic greed which fuels their import, focussing on profit of their findustry rather than the wellbeing of native fish, exotic fish and squids alike. No migrant is at fault, no migrant should be blamed for seeking a better life or a life in general; the epipalagics should be blamed for promising it to the exotic fish and never delivering, while both blaming the squids (because they do not provide profit to the epipalagics) and by not providing for the exotic fish, worsening the life for the native fish alike.
As a school of fish, as hadal and abyssal fish, we must be smarter than the lies fed to us by epipalagics; we must educate ourselves, especially if they do not want us to.
The best interest of the schools is the worst interest of the epipalagic class.
