Calm Your Jets
What our polarized American politics needs is a bit more civility. We need to admit that the other side does see the truth in a clear and concise way, at least some of the time. We need to engage in conversation that respects viewpoints that are different from our own. I believe it's best to imagine that we are sitting directly across from our readers, whenever we respond to his/her social media post.
Are there any radio or social media platforms that celebrate this type of even-handed, respectful discussion?
Although a native Bostonian, my wife and I have lived in central Illinois for over a decade. Illinois is a blue state, but we live away from the cities in a red region.
Who is with me on this idea of civility?
