The state of The States

(A bit old // I wrote most of it a while ago, but here are a few resources)

Trump won the election, here's the close aftermath

 Project 2025

Y'know the thing they were pretending to not want anything to do with during the campaign? Yeah that wasn't the truth (surprise surprise)

For a guy who supposedly wants nothing to do with Project 2025 it's funny how he's nominated "at least five admin nominees who are credited with drafting Project 2025" - Robert Reich)

-- I'm currently reading these eight hundred and eighty seven horrendous pages (I might make a post circa my completion) but since I'm not done here's a video (and another) I think is worth watching

(I also encourage you to read/watch some more on your own) -

Also read it yourself if you can (by the way, command f and search for Trump in the Project 2025 pdf--- guess how many times he's mentioned)

"How to move to -----"

"move to Canada" rose by 10000% and new Zealand and Australia rose by 28000% on Search engines (I'm assuming this is just google though)

Obviously not everyone who searched these things is actually going to move,,, I just thought it was interesting to bring up

4B

4B is a Korean movement (No dating, No marriage, no childbirth, no sex)

In the US 4B started to pick up traction since women don't really want to be with men or sleep with men who vote for their rights to be taken away

Here's a video that explains it in more detail that I liked (again though, encourage you to look it up more)

I hope it picks up more in the US and makes an impact but there are some concerns (The movement had a pretty big impact in Korea, but since the US population is higher it'll take more people in the movement in the US) also people have an issue of picking up movements and protesting things for a bit and then dropping it or forgetting it once something else picks up (Hoping that doesn't happen)

"Loneliness epidemic of men"

This whole "the men are so lonelyyyy" kinda reminds me of whenever people bring up abuse or other topics and then people respond with "that also happens to men"

Like yes, men are abused and (other word I won't type bc there's no spoiler feature here, but y'know) but a lot of people only bring this up as a retort to minimise other stuff, not out of actual concern

Women can fight for rights and be more autonomous without it being a jab against men, assuming that a minority getting more rights is taking something away from you is...

Equality shouldn't be scaring you

On the "loneliness epidemic" part though, yes I do believe there is one (though, not only in regards to men) with the state of social media and online dating people are lonelier now (In dating, making friends, just living) and I think it's a problem, but not a "Women wanting rights is causing this" problem

Also if your loneliness is from people staying away from you because you don't agree with them having rights,,,maybe you should just think about why they don't want to associate with you and how you make others feel

“They’re dying, Russians and Ukrainians. I want them to stop dying. And I’ll have that done — I’ll have that done in 24 hours.”

Kk Trump, sure (idk what to even say to this, that's not gonna happen, for one it isn't that easy to stop ongoing war, two Putin likes the guy which speaks a lot about Trump himself)

Healthcare and human rights (Abortion) (update: uh also a shooting)

Abortion is being criminalised (In certain states it doesn't matter what the circumstances were, incest, sa, even if not terminating would cause severe complications) other states allow it for just certain circumstances

I think this is a right people should have it's healthcare, if people don't want to get an Abortion then don't, but don't take other people's rights to it away

People are still going to get abortions, just not legal and safe ones

Some people are being denied procedures that are considered abortion even when there is no fetus involved (tumor removals)

Contraception is being targeted too now

Honestly it's funny people keep telling me where I live is free and fair and the best on earth, what are they looking at?

Birth rates are an issue in a lot of places

Japan is trying to set a 4 day work week (for government employees) to get birth rates up, Russia is criminalising not having kids

Of course what Russia is doing is just horrendous but the point in bringing this up is that places are having birth rate issues (people don't want to have kids anymore, and I don't blame them) and governments are trying to make them rise

But banning healthcare or forcing families to have kids isn't a ethical way of raising rates, they're more concerned about having more people then actual citizens health or well being

Edit: after writing this UnitedHealthcare's CEO (Brian Thompson) got shot, so also read up about that

people's response to this shows how great we feel about the healthcare here

MAGA supporters Tariff response and deportation response

Trump supporters response to Tariffs is wild to me, it's okay if you don't know what a tariff is, you can learn and read up about them, but staying ignorant to what they are (while doing something as important as voting) and then realising how it impacts you negatively after could have 100% avoided

Also people who voted for Trump who got deported or had family members get deported, obviously that sucks and I feel for them, but this did not need to happen

Please vote with knowledge and not just because others tell you too, you like the person running (without also knowing their policies), or because some other reason

This only effects the US / It isn't that deep

I've been hearing these sorta things going around and honestly be for real, what happens here does effect the rest of the world, what happens in the rest of the world also effects the US, these issues aren't all only US issues. And If this isn't "deep" to you then please just read more, watch more, lose some of that ignorance and gain a little empathy for people

And on that note, the amount of gen z men and boys who are spouting sexist and racist things is baffling and really disappointing

People can change, and I hope a lot of people do...

Exit

For everyone who's stressing and upset, that's understandable

and while this alone won't fix everything, try and stay positive and stick together

People don't want you too be you and be happy, so be you and don't apologise, do things that make you happy

If showing who you are will draw harm to you (like certain schools or families) be careful though, staying safe is also a priority, you'll get out eventually

It's important to fight against stuff of course, but in a way staying positive is a protest of sorts :]
