Going Forward.

Let’s not sugarcoat it—Trumpism and the rise of American fascism are a direct threat to everything democracy stands for. We’re not just talking about political disagreements anymore; we’re talking about an authoritarian movement that thrives on misinformation, voter suppression, and a complete disregard for the rule of law. And let’s be clear—Trump is not some anomaly. He’s the symptom of a much deeper disease festering in the American political system. So, here’s the deal: President Biden has presidential immunity. He’s in the final stretch of his presidency, and it’s time for him to go all in. Forget playing nice, forget “reaching across the aisle,” because the other side has already tossed the rulebook out the window. Biden needs to use that immunity to do what needs to be done—protect our democracy before it’s too late.

  • Step One: Force a Recount

If Trump and his cronies want to play dirty with election denialism, then Biden needs to take the fight to them. Use executive authority to force a recount in any state where voter suppression tactics like gerrymandering or intimidation have been documented. Call it what it is: a democratic intervention. The American people deserve to know that their votes actually matter and that elections aren’t being stolen by dark money and corrupt state officials.

  • Step Two: Stack the Supreme Court

The current Supreme Court is a bastion of conservative extremism, thanks to Mitch McConnell and his unethical power grabs. This court has already overturned Roe v. Wade, gutted voting rights, and shown a blatant bias toward corporate interests. Biden has the power to expand the court, and it’s time to use it. Add seats, nominate justices who will uphold progressive values, and restore balance to an institution that’s been weaponized by the far-right. Is it a radical move? Sure. But radical times call for radical action. If the GOP can justify packing the courts with unqualified ideologues, then Biden can justify restoring democracy by putting the brakes on judicial overreach

  • Step Three: Cement His Legacy

This isn’t just about protecting democracy in the short term; it’s about finishing Biden’s legacy. Right now, history will remember him as the guy who took down Trump in 2020, but that’s not enough. If Biden doesn’t take bold action now, the next Trump—or even worse—will sweep in and dismantle everything progressives have fought for. Biden has the chance to be remembered as the president who saved democracy, not just delayed its collapse. No More Playing Defense! The time for half-measures is over. The GOP has shown time and time again that they are willing to bend or break every rule to consolidate power. From voter suppression laws to attempted coups, their strategy is clear: they don’t care about democracy. They care about winning at any cost. If Biden doesn’t act decisively, then he’s effectively conceding the game to them.
We’re in the fight of our lives, and all cards are off the table. This is Biden’s moment to step up, use every tool at his disposal, and make it clear that American democracy is worth fighting for.
