...but here goes nothing. I'm not surprised but I am disappointed. At the end of the day, Trump won the majority with less total votes than 4 years ago. The democrats have got to get their shit together. They keep running these lukewarm "we're not the other guy" campaigns and it doesn't fucking work.
They can't wait and let the Republicans set the agenda. They can't just say, "everything that the Republicans want? Yeah, we want the opposite of that." They need to fucking stand for something, not just just against things. It feels entirely reactionary and without conviction.
While voters failed to pick the right candidate, democrats were failing their base. The DNC needs to start looking at who exactly are winning elections. Progressive candidates are doing well. Stop this centrist, status quo bullshit. Listen to the people and actually give us what we fucking want.
I'm disappointed in American voters, but I'm more mad at the DNC.
EDIT: now that I've had time to think about it, I really think Biden and Kamala's lax attitudes towards Gaza is the real reason their base wasn't fired up. We need someone, ANYONE with conviction and strong, demonstrable sense of right and wrong. They spent too much time failing to do something, anything, for the people of Gaza.
(This was copied from a bulletin post I made that I didn't want to lose. The edit at the bottom was a comment I made on the original.)
