stop whining and get ready to act

okay, to start off, i am a transmasc butch lesbian (dont even try to debate how you can be transmasc and a lesbian with me rn. read a book and learn some queer history, then come back with your opinion on my identity) i live in the southern US and in a tiny republican town. im a leftist, just saying leftist to avoid left infighting on things.

while i was not a fan of either candidate, Kamala was the better leaning option in this election. voting third party was not a real option in this election as it would have no effect or chance of winning this time around. with trumps win, i have something very serios to say:

IT IS NOT THE END OF THE WORLD, AND LIBERALS AND LEFTISTS NEED TO STOP TREATING IT AS SUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

now i will say, this sucks for a lot of people, myself and my family included. but not everyone is going to die because of a shitty election. people who have this idea are being idiotic and not taking this time to do the things to ensure that our rights are going to be protected or planning on how to protect and care for their cmmunities come trumps next term.

if you actually want to be productive in the face of this change in our government, here are some things that you can do instead of whining like a bitch.

1. get in touch with your community and plan for the worst

now i know i said its not the end of the world, and i still believe this. but things are going to get worse for people of colour, queer people, young people, disabled people and more. this means that community is everything right now. and im not talking about your mutuals on tiktok or instagram. im talking about your neighbors, community resources, library groups and more, real community.

you need to get together with your community and plan for how things are going to go and how you are going to take care for eachother if everything goes to shit. how are you going to get your disabled community members groceries and to their appointments, how can we help them afford these things? how can we keep our trans brothers and sisters safe in public if the right goes mad with power and tries to harm them, whether thru police violence or common right wingers making it their day's purpose to harm minorities? how are we going to protect black/minority owned businesses for getting destroyed by mobs or domestic terror groups? how are we going to keep vulnerable men, women, others and children safe in public, getting them the help they need that they cant get in certain states?

these are things that you need to know, talk to your neighbors. come up with plans on how to uphold and protect each other. THIS IS IMPORTANT. COMMUNITY IS EVERYTHING RIGHT NOW.

2. make sure you pay attention to the news and keep up with all thats going on

again, important. you wont know how to move forward if you dont know whats going on.

3. learn about local farmers markets, learn how to grow plants if you are able

there is a 85% chance that there will be a serious economic recession in the coming years, meaning that life is going to get harder beyond the basics of whats going on in out government. if you are able to, grow crops that can feed you, your family and possibly your community. plan out who will grow what and try to get all of the things that can meaningfully sustain you adn your community. this will take a lot off of you all and will help so much. if you arent able to grow anything, learn about other trades that will be needed. learn how to repair buildings, electrical work, plumbing, making clothes, providing childcare and all of the other things that can make society run smoothly. this is again, a community based effort and will help in the long run.

4. work out

i put this last as tho it is important, this is mostly necessary if thigns actually get hella bad. we need to be able to transport eachother thru any means, move heavy things, be able to fight if necessary and be able to defend ourselves and the people around us. now i will admit that as a disabled person, working out is very hard for me, but it is something that i can acknowledge that is not an option to not do anymore.

i just dont want the results of this electionto turn into a liberal pity party while the rights of our most vulnerable citizens get stripped away and people get removed from out country who have every fucking right to be here.

stop fucking whining and be a productive person and get your fucking act together. im being harsh because i dont want my siblings to grow up un a communty or country that think of them as less and as property becauseof their race and sex
