colorful hair and piercings don't make you alternative

i think most people tend to lump in those that wear baggy clothes, have colorful hair and piercings as alternative (though that is the most superficial part of the scene). of course one of your favorite "alt" tiktok creators voted for trump. they are just in it for the aesthetic of it, they use the scene as a form of escapism. they don't seem to understand however, that you can't escape something if you're not actively trying to do something to make that problem go away. ofc they will never understand that all those bands they love like: My Chem, Green Day and Fall Out Boy would hate them. Especially when the members of these bands grew up listing to bands like: Black Flag, Gorilla Biscuits, Minor Threat, and NOFX.
