Hope

In the midst of all the chaos caused by this year's election, I would like to spread some hope around the SpaceHey community.

Yesterday, a transgender woman named Sarah McBride became the first out transgender woman to be elected to Congress, proving that the trans community and the LGBTQ+ community as a whole are still here and will continue to remain here forever.

Speaking of community, it is especially important to find a community right now! Fascism feeds off of fear of the other. While I understand being paranoid about the world around you and the people within in it right now, we need to remember that there are people out these that love those of us who are in marginalized communities. We need to find these people and build community with them. In community, we will always find our strength. Without community, we begin to experience fear and loneliness, two things that, as I mentioned earlier, fascism loves to feed off of.

We will survive whatever comes ahead. History has shown us that humans have always made the best out of bad situations. While it is easy to feel like the world is coming to an end and that we will never survive the coming years, we must remember that we HAVE to. We cannot hide nor surrender to/from fascism. We must fight. When all of us are done grieving, we must fight.

Solidarity forever, and power to the people. We WILL get through this.
