So this was my city after hurricane helene here in Morganton, Western North Carolina. 😢

So much destruction. There was nothing that we could do to even *BE* prepeared for this. People are saying people in WNC should of evacuated...We were told basicly it wasn't going to be too bad, and BOOM it switched course and gave us little to no time to prepare. Stop listening to the media and everyone who ISN'T here, and instead listen to US..people here on ground zero. And YES, FEMA *IS* turning away certain donations. It's for this reason: "Preferred Vendor's Lists." It's purely for logistical reasons. Sponsors and shareholder companies who have paid for spots to donate their company's products. Like a big AD campaign. They don't want regular private citizens donating products not on that list simply before it would be competitive advertising. It's pretty disgusting. This is why people are going around fema and going off road and into the mountains to avoid them. Oh, And the talks about us saying there is the smell of death emanating from hard hit areas...that is TOTALLY TRUE. Even where I live away from the flooding up on a mountain..the smell occasionally wafts up here on warm days. The misinformation they are saying is being spread..is by the media and higher ups like politicians, and NOT the very people who were victims. I have nothing to gain from talking about it, just that I wanted the truth to be out there. From someone where it happened. Please pray for us and the victims and their families who have lost family members, pets, homes and everything. Even if you aren't religious, please send good vibes and energy at least.
