The fun part about capitalism begins when you either figure out how to live on basically $0 beyond bills (not counting food or water), or whenever you are rich for obvious reasons. The latter is obvious so I will explain the former.

You can often figure out ways to cut bills further down depending on how you decide to live. Of course, it will not be well, but it would work by technicality to not have anything like power, internet, etc. Although most people either can't live beyond terribly because their job probably wouldn't allow not showering for like months at a time, or would not want to live like that. So, I will also discuss the more reasonable way to do this. Of course, there is homecooking a meal then eating whatever is left-over, which could actually last you a few days depending on what you eat, which becomes useful if you find a place to get food for cheaper, even more so if it is healthier.

However, the real fun begins with food preservation, specifically via jarring food. You will need quite a few mason-jars, preferably of various sizes, then need to figure out how to make them air-tight (the internet is your best bet to figure out that). Once you manage to get them, and manage to then have enough saved after bills to start mass-preserving food, you can begin using the jars to store food long-term, and also, even if you lost your house or apartment, you could take all of the jars with you, and then just eat out of those for a long while. This is most useful if you already know where to get food cheaply, or if something bad happened which affected resource availability. Fruit, vegetables, and some other foods can be jarred. Every dollar would be used to make me more money or to make me less reliant on money. In fact, I would argue that is the entire point of monies if you avoid consoomerism already.

In the case of America, it isn't too hard to find a place with low property tax and low income tax, the very existence of the former prevents you from being able to live away from the government and rest of society btw. Because even once you own the land, you still have to pay taxes yearly meaning you need to make the money to pay them. Several states have property taxes that are like under 1%, and I believe some of these states even have exemptions (at least from what I've overheard from family), but it is still unfortunate that it exists at all. Although your best bet to avoid being a wage-slave is to figure out getting land, even an acre which is like 10k sq feet, then making yourself less and less reliant on society in general. Multiple income sources, preferably which don't itself turn into a full-time job or is something you actually enjoy, etc. Farming is also good but takes a decent bit of work, although being able to have your own food source is amazing, even more so whenever you now have a way to stockpile it for the long-term.

It sucks, but with no realistic way to change the system, it is better to take advantage of it in every way possible.
