watching a stream for the first time in a while

i watched a stream recently on twitch from someone i follow on twitter. they had about 6-7 viewers and i watched the last hour or so of their stream, and i was 1 of about 4 people chatting with the streamer, 2 of which were moderators so i'm assuming they're already friends with the streamer.

(i also usually hate watching streams why would i watch a random person play a game they literally have walkthroughs for story-based games and for online games i would just play the game myself idgaf about someone else playing it tf)

(finding personalities online to do that is rare for me i suppose cause i get so bored out of my mind after a minute or two of watching streamers they're soooooooooooooo boring i have no emotional investment)

(same thing with podcasts i hate podcasts i hate podcasts i hate podcasts!!!!!!!!)

the weird(?) thing about it was kind of like sharing an intimate/close experience despite not knowing each other. with smaller streamers, they're more likely to read your messages directly and respond to it as opposed to the stereotypical popular streamer with a chat you can barely read with so much text passing by.

is this what sports fans feel when they talk about sports with random people in public? the, uh, immediate camaraderie?? i had the common interest with the streamer of the game (Content Warning, btw), so we were able to banter over it, but usually my social interactions are sus and awkward because i'm socially awkward =3= but like... this was fun ! i'm so behind on social skills kmsss *uses my psychic powers to raise the furniture in the room by about 2 inches and dropping them abruptly*

... if this is how normal people function... that's crazy...
