Israel's Genocide in Gaza Expands to Lebanon

I apologize for waiting so long to write this particular blog post. I was originally going to write something like this on October 7th, a.k.a the day Israel decided to begin its genocide against the Palestinian people last year, but the current situation that is unfolding in Lebanon is something I cannot continue to avoid speaking up about. 

For those of you who are unaware of what Israel is doing in Lebanon, last week the Israeli government rigged a bunch of pagers belonging to Hezbollah members and those related to Hezbollah members with explosives. All of these explosives went off at the same time, leading to a catastrophic amount of injuries and deaths; Not all of those who died were Hezbollah members. Since this attack, Israel has only continued to ramp up its attack(s) on Lebanon. Today alone, the Israeli military killed 492 people and wounded thousands of others after it launched hundreds of airstrikes at Lebanon (mainly Southern and Eastern Lebanon). Some of these airstrikes, unsurprisingly, targeted homes, medical facilities, and ambulances. Also unsurprisingly, the Israeli military has told Lebanese civilians that they should evacuate areas where Hezbollah is supposedly storing weapons while failing to provide proof that Hezbollah is storing weapons in these areas, many of which are for civilians (sound familiar...?).

Israel's recent attacks on Lebanon are some of the deadliest the country has faced since 2006, the year Israeli forces bombarded Hezbollah soldiers after the group captured several Israeli soldiers. The attacks have already displaced around 100,000 people and, as I mentioned earlier, have led to a large amount of injuries and deaths. It is likely that Israel is going to continue its attacks on Lebanon for however long it wants to without being stopped by its closest allies while simultaneously continuing its genocide in Gaza, leading to even more death, destruction, and misery. Those of us who are pro-Palestine must also begin to pay attention to Lebanon.
