How do you manage a blog?

I always wanted to start one of these, just for fun. Or maybe trying to be all philosophical and whimsical, but I always struggled with expressing myself. So I guess this is more of a...secret stuff? It would be great if someone ends up liking so I'll try to do my best. But when it comes to blogging...how do I do that?
