And I must say, I don't understand why everybody has been saying it was so great. She repeated the same exact talking points about Israel, the border, and the military that every other president before her has repeated. As an anarchist, I wasn't expecting her speech to be any different from any other speech by an American politician. I knew she was going to continue to defend Israel and spread misinformation about the October 7th attack, go on and on about how our border needs to be "secured", and talk about how our military needs to be the "most lethal fighting force" while in the same breath claiming that America is a compassionate country with politicians that will stand up for every American. The hypocrisy is insane. How are you going to claim that America is a compassionate country while at the same time implying that you're going to send more bombs to Israel so that they can continue their genocide against the Palestinian people? How are you going to talk about how you will stand up for every American, no matter their race, gender, sex, sexuality, ability, etc., while at the same time saying that you will secure our border- something that harms immigrants who are trying to become or already are Americans? As somebody who is staunchly pro-Palestine, anti-border, and against the military-industrial complex, I was extremely disappointed by Kamala's speech. I don't trust her, nor do I trust the Democratic party. In fact, I don't trust any American party, although people who have had me added for a while know this about me already.ย
Side note, while I was watching the speech I noticed somebody in the audience was wearing a keffiyeh-patterned scarf, which really confused me. I just want to know if that person heard the things that Kamala was saying about Israel, and I want to know why they didn't join the pro-Palestine/anti-genocide protesters that were protesting outside the DNC. Unless they were planning to interrupt her speech, I really don't understand why they would just sit there and listen to her go on and on about Israel and its supposed "right to defend itself".ย

sorry if i sound all over the place im a little bad at putting all my thoughts together, but im just a bit confused.
im in no way a kamala dickrider, i plan to move out of the us as soon as physically possible actually. i hate the government here and im not interested in being miserable for the rest of my life. im just confused on a couple things. first, border control. i feel like everyone knows that the immigrant issue is a genuine issue. with how bad shit over here is, im not sure why taking the time to fix it is a bad idea- unless she meant it in another way. like as in shutting down the border indefinitely- that would just plainly go against 'american values' (aka a bunch of bs). secondly, a country can be 'compassionate' while also having a strong military? i don't see how that negates that. my thing is that we already spend an egregious amount of money on our military as is so bringing that up was out of the left field. otherwise, both can coexist, in my opinion. that's all tho, i think
