What is the weirdest item youve ever mourned

When i was younger and tripped on some stairs my grandma decided to "punish" the stairs by hitting it. It made me feel so bad because it wasnt the stairs fault, they were just doing their job :(

In my primary school we used to be made to write essays about being inanimate objects. They would be titled stuff like " i am a pencil" "i am a school bag" "i am a pencil" and they would all follow the same plot. The object is made. The object is displayed. The object is purchased and used by a child and it is happy as it is their greatest want in the world. The object gets old or broken. The object gets replaced and thrown away. And still at the end, it says i am glad i got to be used. And like yeah. It made me love my pencils extra hard when i was younger.
