I admire goths so much and I find them so interesting, honestly I fine myself wanting to learn more about the them! I'm aware it's music based, I want to try listening to goth music and artist to see if it might be something I might like! Though I have a religious family and I myself am a bit religious, though I respect all goths no matter what but I feel like maybe being religious wouldn't allow me to listen to the music (if that makes sense) though I have seen some Christian goths. Also if I were to start listening to goth music I want to know where to start and bands I should listen to, also I am aware there a multiple types of goths so I assume maybe some of the music would be different. Also I want to know if there's anything else that would not qualify me to listen to the music, if that makes sense? I really like to know! I often find myself admiring goths I see on tiktok and sometimes I'll find myself enjoying the music they add to there videos!
Questions for goths!!!

This spotify playlist has some good songs on it! Goth by and large isn't specific to religion, though you may run into more atheist goths than anything. I am deeply spiritual/religious myself, but the subculture is primarily music-based and finding the people who get along with you based on shared interests is a good portion of the community aspect of the genre.

you are allowed to listen to whatever music you like no one is going to stop you
start with the most well-known goth bands - the cure, sisters of mercy, bauhaus, anything else you're immediately given with a google search - they're going to be your best representation of the genre. also the chameleons are great
