why is job hunting so hard rn

currently in the process of quitting my current job and I never realized how hard it is to find a job rn. only reason im quitting my current job is cause its horrible rn and the managers overwork everyone and we are only getting 17 an hour but they cut our hours as well. so I gotta get outta there cause im pretty much not getting anything. but damn finding a job is hard
