Today was my last day of skate camp and even though I was tired and sore I still went onto the ice. There’s nothing like the feeling I get stepping out onto the rink it’s a euphoria and a calmness woven tightly together throughout my body.
The coach instructed us to do our jumps and I was feeling upset about my five failed axel attempts (I kept landing on two feet or touching down), but I kept my cool. The coach asked me to try a loop jump by itself (I’ve done loops with little effort for years now) and my frustration must’ve crept into the takeoff because I landed a double loop. I went to set up for another axel when the coach stopped me and asked me if I realised what I had done. I asked him if I did something wrong and he told me that I did a fully rotated double loop. He told me to try it again and I did it again.
Today was awesome! I’m going to be so sore tomorrow.
