story

In pizza tower you will play as peppino spaghetti a fat old italian midget running a struggling pizza joint. One day Peppino is visited by a sentient pizza known as Pizza face who plans on disintegrating Peppino's Pizza this news scares the shit out of Peppino who hauls ass to Pizza Face's evil lair to beat the shit out of him and destroy his laser

gameplay

the gameplay of pizza tower is like a mix of sonic warioland and devil may cry this conconction of gameplay ideas turns into one of if not the most engaging platformer known to man. the movement is fluid and greasy in the best possible way almost feeling like you are sliding on the ground with minimal resistance and just sloppily speeding through a level absolutely decimating anything or one who crosses your path. The main goals of each level are speed and style with a combo meter that reward variation and cool moves and the faster you go the more points you get at the end of each level you have to enter pizza time where you have to run back to the begining of the level on a timer with the option of a second lap if you are aiming for an s rank the longer you take on pizza time the more points are deducted from your score so you need to be quick. the main event of each floor is the boss fight each of wich build upon the last until the final showdown with pizza face and all the other bosses you have faced ending with a pizza time that has you run through the entire tower as it crumbles to the ground

the noise

after beating the main campaign you are given the option to play again as the boss of the third floor the noise this offers and entirely new moveset that is even more cartoonish than peppino's it is a nice addition to an already great game

level design

the design of each level is very meticulous and there are plenty of secrets to discover each level has an interesting gimmick and they are really well designed and are fun to speed through

music

the music in pizza tower is really nice feeling like a song right out of screamadelica or and aphex twin record with all kinds of samples and electric music

art direction

one of the most astonishing things about pizza tower is that every little thing was drawn in ms paint which is very impressive considering the level of detail in the levels and the fluidity of the animations some of which look straight out of an old looney toons episode

pizza tower is definitely worth your time and is the best platformer of its year being infinitely replayable and extremely fun please try it if given the chance
