I think Americans are really sensitive about topics that are completely normalized in other countries like braids. I saw alot of Tiktoks about the fact that it is considered racist to wear them, they call it 'cultural appropriation'. Personally I think the key of ending racism and segregation is to share culture but ig thats just my opinion! Would love to hear yall opinions :3

muniver #1 alune fan EVER	1718252168 braids are a very important hairstyle in my culture and for many others!! i think the only issue is when people do blk hairstyles like box braids and have ill intent or say like "well my culture has braids" but its not that specific type. i think we should really talk more about cultural appreciation and be more positive instead of always assuming the worst :) Report Comment
Dart Highwind	1718251609 Braids have been a hairstyle for numerous cultures, dating as far back (as far as I know) to the ancient Egyptians. Anyone saying that braids is racist is like saying breathing is racist. It's inherent to literally all of humanity and those who don't know this are ignorant and could use some educating.
