for my chemical romance - i think the black parade is objectively their best album but revenge is my favorite!!

and for alice in chains - dirt!!!!

(but i love all albums by both artists, this was hard to choose!! ^)

my favorite album of all time, i honestly dont think i've ever given this consideration omg. that's a big question. cause more than just being an album i love it has to be one that changed the way i look at music in general!

maybe "remain in light" by talking heads, i wanna study david byrne's brain under a microscope :]

also i really love tpab by kendrick lamar, that's a life-changing album and it makes me cry (& dance!) every single time i hear it

spotify! i've been using it for a rly long time (since i was 12) which is the main reason i still use it ,, one day i wanna have a really good audio setup & switch to a platform that offers higher quality audio cause spotifys kinda stinks (sorry). apparently they're gonna add lossless audio so we'll see but knowing them its probably gonna cost wayy too much :p

underrated band? tallah (even tho they have like 90k monthly listeners idc they're still underrated) i think they're getting more listeners so that's good but i wanna hear them talked about more! esp when talking abt nu metalcore

other underrated bands - rival schools, pett, benadriil, model/actriz, the muslims, forespi, tad (seriously they deserved way more recognition for inhaler), heartworms, inthewhale, love lost but not forgotten, g.l.o.s.s., slouch, ashtray (the punk band), & heroin (again, the punk band, but i have a v funny story about this band that i need to tell sometime)

overrated band... only a few come to mind & i don't wanna hurt anyone's feelings if they like those bands so i won't say!

underrated album - "the lamb as effigy" by sprain, that album changed my life

and againn not gonna say any overrated albums, this time i actually can't think of any so woohoo :D

underrated - "entr'acte: she sits down at the piano and sings the thirty-six views" by forest spirit, sun on your back (criminally underrated artist btw!)

overrated - pls pls pls know i love every mcr song but summertime is kinda overrated (in my opinion!)

"up against the wall" by nsync, but idk it's a lot of fun so :] i think iprobably like more embarrassing songs than that but i can't think of them rn soo,,,!!!

i have an electric guitar & i need to dedicate a lot more time to it, i haven't played in forever, but i want to! the first song i learned on it was "big long now" by nirvana <3

consistently???? that's super tough, i've had lots of musical hyperfixations. when i was a kid, my favorite singer was beyonce, but i don't listen to her music that much anymore & haven't since i was pretty young (tho lemonade and renaissance are amazing albums!!) i guess i could say that about most artists i listened to when i was younger, i didn't consistently stick with any artist bc i grew out of most of the ones i listened to when i was younger! i guess troye sivan is up there though, cause i found him on youtube and started listening to his music when trxye came out, and i still listen to his music (just not that often anymore)

most recently, started listening to silverstein (super late to this i know lol :])

but if this question means the newest as in an emerging artist, it would be rous. bc he just released his debut album "god plays his piano drone" on may 17th (go check it out it's amazing!!)

it's a tie between recommendations i get, & various paths i go down on aoty! i have a rly rly rly long list of music i want to listen to but sometimes i just like to sit with the music i already have saved for a little while before introducing new stuff to the mix!

hmmmmmm i didn't like the velvet underground at first until i was able to put them in a different context! it took me a while to be able to actually see it that way, cause i used to listen to "the velvet underground & nico" and i could not for the life of me understand why it was praised so much. but i get it now! that's a thing i'm glad to have learned about music!

i answered this too in the last music survey!! twenty one pilots :p again, i still think trench is a great album & i listen to it from time to time!!

definitely mcr, for several reasons! that was one of the best nights of my whole entire life and i wish i could relive it! also there's a super funny video i need to share sometime that i took during "i'm not ok (i promise)" when frank yells "trust me" and i screamed afterwards (frank is my favorite and i think it made me so excited that i got to witness that in person that i short circuited)

ALICE IN CHAINSSSSS !!!!!!!!! omg i wish so bad that i could've gone to an early 90s era alice in chains concert. i miss layne so much

both i think. primarily sound i guess, but lyrics can make or break a song!!

i'm pretty sure there's a handful of bands i listen to that are like this hahahaha yeah! just not that one band that was like "how can this nightmare be my life" cause idk what that mess even was

ok similarly i don't watch a lot of movies so no real preference but can i just say that twilight unironically has a really good soundtrack. i mean wtf.

anyway, i also like the dirty dancing soundtrack & used to have it on cd, and i LOVE the rocky horror soundtrack & have it on cd!

not anymore! i learned my lesson with that, it just never went well. but i obviously still love making friends with similar music tastes, i just think it's better to stay away from the fandom spaces cause they tend to be kind of toxic and it's not worth compromising my relationship with the music!

i really like the cover of "a thousand leaves" by sonic youth bc it fits the sound of that album PERFECTLY. seriously. listen to "sunday" and tell me i'm wrong.

i also love the cover of "sit down for dinner" by blonde redhead for similar reasons, also it's just generally nice to look at.

and for similar reasons i also like the cover of "wlfgrl" by machine girl, "rumours" by fleetwood mac (OF COURSE!!), "jar of flies" by alice in chains, "hellfire" by black midi, "doolittle" by pixies, "ocean rain" by echo & the bunnymen, "in rainbows" by radiohead (they have such good album covers), "disintegration" by the cure, and tpab by kendrick lamar!

i don't have a specific one that comes to mind (i'm sure there's some if i thought hard enough) but i tend to like chaotic titles that implicate that the song is gonna be crazy, i rub my hands together like a cartoon villain whenever i see those
