The odd duck age of seventeen

I became seventeen a two months ago & I just realized how odd it is as an age online. Too young to legally be considered an adult, but too old to be comfortably included with younger teens. Sixteen is the age of action for most—it’s when people get their first car & more privileges—& I think that being sixteen is the most favoured year out of all the teen years (excluding 18, I don’t count that one). So where does that leave the transitional age of seventeen? In the middle of two major life events: rising adulthood & adulthood.
